Great atmosphere, vintage and interesting decor. Service wasn't bad. I called my order in and asked if burgers came with fries, was told no and given a 5-10 min time frame to pick up. When I got there and saw they had fries, the guy behind the counter was super quick to grab me 2 freshly made orders of the crinkle cut (though he didn't ask me how many orders I wanted).
We ordered the Aye Aye Smokehouse burger and the Jay bird Patty Melt. Double burgers for each, which was a good idea because the burgers looked like smashburgers (thin), so the 2 together were the size of what a normal burger should be. The burgers had no char on them at all. It was almost like the griddle was overloaded and not hot enough, so they couldn't fry up nice and crisp/charred on the outside. Same with the bacon, it was very soft, not crisp. They went super light on the BBQ sauce for the smokehouse burger, with just the smallest drizzle on the bottom bun. And even though the Jaybird was supposed to have their 'wicked harbor sauce' on it, the bread was dry. I doctored it up at home with some Chipotle mayo. The fries were completely unseasoned, though they were really nice about giving me a side of vinegar. They advertise the burgers as a blend of Angus, chuck, brisket and short rib. And flavor-wise, you could tell, because it was tasty. Just needed a better char so it didn't have the consistency of being steamed.
Both double burgers and 2 small sides of fries came to $30. I will likely not go back and wouldn't really recommend it either, but everyone has...
Read moreI personally enjoy walking into the classic burger resturant, the atmosphere that greets you when you walk in the door you have merchandise by yours truly lined up as you walk in. They have advertised hot sauces, pickles, jam, drink mixers, and some food up there. The smell that just lofts in there is an amazing smell, fresh delicious burgers and fries. They have some older antique arcade games in there to really give it that burger joint feel. Bright color furniture and accents to makes you feel like youre not in 2025 that's for sure. The staff i have encountered have been so wonderful and kind and extremely helpful when needed. They have cooler drinks or you can choose from a fountain drink or if you really dare they have milkshakes and even specialty milkshakes!! Mm. Just walk up to the counter and you have the menus up top or on the counter tops. I haven't ordered something that wasn't delicious. I've tried the harbor burger and the aye aye burger and also the chicken tots are so good. I forgot the fries are hands down cut to perfection and cooked to scrumptious perfect crunch on the outside. They just are such a great burger shop I'm so thankful for Harbor Burger Shack! Thank you for all you do Harbor...
Read moreStopped in for lunch with my father in law while visiting the area. We ordered the All Aboard the Blue single deck burger, Spicy Chicken sandwich, loaded fries, chili cheese fries and two fountain drinks. Total came out to $43.10, which I thought was a bit pricey but whatever, we were hungry. Per our ticket, we placed our order at 12:52pm and we did not receive our food until 1:28pm, a whole 36 minutes later for two sandwiches and fries. This was insane. Not only were we wondering where our food was but so was everyone else who had ordered. Other people were getting upset about their food and why it was taking so long. Maybe the Harbor Burger Shack is a new business and just trying to get in the groove of things, but it was definitely a turn off for us and many others while we were there. I will say that the food was fresh and maybe that’s why it took so long for orders to be fulfilled. Overall, it was an ok experience. Would I refer the place to someone looking for food in Kittery?...
