I just want to advise everyone to take advantage of this Mexican restaurant if they are visiting. I grew up in Knob Noster and ate there usually twice a month. It was my favorite restaurant. My favorite thing on the menu was their burritos with queso sauce. If I had a bad day, this was my silver lining. Bad day at school-- T.J.s Fight with the boyfriend -- we could resolve it over a glorious meal at T.Js. Long day at work -- the thought of queso pushed me through. Eventually I got older, got married to a military man, and moved to New York, Colorado, and now Cali. Today, my husband came home from work and told me to pick a place to eat. Whatever sounds good. As I took my shower, I thought to myself the whole time about a burrito with queso sauce. Thinking back to the last Mexican restaurant we ate at in Cali, i remembered they did not serve queso Blanco. As you could imagine, I was heart broken and did not want to make the same mistake again. So after my shower I googled "Mexican restaurants with queso Blanco dip near me." Come to find out, they do not exist near me. They do not exist in Cali. Queso. Blanco. Does. Not. Exist. Here. I even found a forum where multiple mid-westerns shared my same disappointment.
My whole life I took queso Blanco and T.J.s for granted. My whole life I wanted to leave Knob Noster, only to find out I would be leaving a piece of my heart behind. And it's too late. I've already signed the lease. We've already settled in. There is no going back.
The moral of this story is do not be like me. Do not take this God's sent restaurant for granted. Knob Noster doesn't have much. But it has T.Js and that's really all you need in life. So eat there. Love it. Hold it near and dear to your heart. Be thankful that you get to be in the presence of something so uncommon and precious.
As for me-- I will be okay. I will be making my own queso Blanco and taking it with me to all upcoming "Mexican restaurants," while simultaneously educating the West Coast on what their menu should contain.
Thank you for making my childhood great T.Js. Not all...
Read moreI’ve been to plenty of Mexican restaurants and coming from a Mexican I can honestly say this was not an Authentic Mexican restaurant. Nothing about this place was authentic. The flour tortillas & corn tortillas tasted as if they came from a bag. And that was very disappointing. And the carne asada had no flavor and overall tasted bland. And the carnitas was so dry I didn’t even eat my plate. And when going to a “authentic Mexican restaurant” you should at least have your own green chile and red chile and not from a bottle. Over all very distasteful place and complete waste of money. The customer service was awful and our waiter seemed to always be in a rush. Over all will never go back...
Read moreI usually really enjoy this restaurant but I went there last night and they jacked up the prices of everything, I bought fajitas that were mostly onions and peppers, and extra tortillas and I was charged $23, i didn't say anything to them, I just paid for my food but the 2 men working the front were rude and acted like I was burdening them, and it's not the first time me and my fiance have been treated this way it really hurt my feelings because I really used to enjoy this place and now I never want to come back not even because of the prices even though it was very expensive compared to all the other times I would come in but because of how rudely I...
