I have lived in Thailand and many states within the United States. Wherever I go I make sure to try the local Thai cuisine hoping to find authentic restaurants that represent the taste and flavor of Isan (อีสาน) Thai food. For a time Red Curry Thai & Sushi in Kingwood, Texas with a Mae Khrua from Khorat held the candle for the best Thai food I have had the pleasure of eating in America.
Tip: to know the authenticity of a Thai restaurant it is important to try the Pad Kra Pow (Minced Pork with Basil) dish. If the Pork is minced, you know it is from the Isan and not Bangkok. If the chef puts a fried over easy egg on top as part of the dish, you are in for a treat.
That was my experience at Mama Pin's Thai & Asian Cuisine. My family and I were going to Knob Noster, MO to pick up a weed-eater and since it was over an hour away from home, I wanted to see what lunch options were in the area. I looked over the menu for Mama Pin's and immediately knew the place was going to be authentic. The Minced Pork with Basil had an egg on top in the picture!!
Sure enough, this is by far and away the most authentic Thai restaurant I have ever had the pleasure of eating at. I invite everyone to take the time to travel to Knob Noster, MO and enjoy, as did I, the wonderful flavor and taste of Isan (อีสาน) Thai food at Mama Pin's Thai &...
Read moreWe ate there 10/12/22 The server was not very good! Upon arriving I had to seat myself and I told her I was there and waiting for my friend. She gave me the menu and sat there for 10 minutes but she never offered me ifwanted a drink. Couple came in and she greeted and seated them right away. She also asked them if they wanted a drink. I ordered the MILD tofu pad Thai. The pad Thai was super spicy and she said it was suppose to be like that. If the mild was super spicy, idk how the spicy one would be. We couldn’t eat without drinking water every bite. I ate two bites and I asked her if that was really mild and she said yes. We complained that we couldn’t eat it as how spicy it was but she never offered to make it right. She just looked at us and clueless then went back to doing whatever. My friend decided to take it home instead of throwing it away since we had to pay for it anyway. The steamed dumplings were cold and soggy. The lumpia were okay. My friend decided to order the no spice pad thai to go so she can have it for dinner. We paid for our food and waited about 20 more minutes for the to go. My friend signaled the waitress and all she said was “it’s coming!” And didn’t bother to come...
Read moreMy husband and I came to Mama Pin's Thai & Asian last weekend for the first time. We asked our server for a recommendation and he quickly responded with Pad Thai, so we ordered that. We also ordered the Thai Cashew Nut. We knew we wanted one with beef, the other with chicken but could not decide which meal with which meay. Our server quickly responded with beef for the Thai Cashew Nut, chicken for the Pad Thai. We took his recommendations. Both were ordered with medium level of heat. We shared both with each other as we often do and were impressed by both. They were very tasty and just the right amount of heat. We will probably order the Pad Thai again next time and then make another choice on our other meal as the Pad Thai was different than anything we had eaten before and was quite a pleasant surprise. We also ordered and shared a Thai Iced Tea which was both pleasing to the eye and had quite a wonderful flavor.
I would recommend Mama Pin's for freshly made food that comes without much waiting and at a...
