This place lives up to the high reviews!! I enjoyed everything about my visit! It was hard to decide what to eat because everything looked and sounded great. I decided on the Pork Angry Dumplings and BBQ buns plus a Lucky Taro with boba. I was a little worried the angry dumpling might be overly spicy but they were perfect. There was some heat but in a flavorful way, not a mouth scorching way. They were nicely filled and a great texture. I have never had steamed BBQ buns before so I can’t compare. These were soft, chewy, and sweet and absolutely delicious . The prices were excellent. This is the kind of food I find so addictive! Sweet, salty, soft, chewy, crunchy, spicy… and affordable. The Lucky Taro tasted like taro milk tea mixed with the leftover milk from a bowl of lucky charms cereal marshmallows. Service was great as well. There are quite a few things on the menu I want to try. I liked that there were some options that were less adventurous; my mom is a picky eater but I think she’ll like the veggie dumplings and the spring onion noodles I got my food to go because I had somewhere to be but I’ll def be back and take better pics. Update— I went for my second visit and it was just as delicious as the first. I got more angry dumplings and tried the spring onion noodles. They also had a red velvet chocolate chip cookie that absolutely delicious. You could really taste both aspects.

Went in for lunch today after finding this place on Google maps. It's a very small store front in a strip mall. The seating is limited and the place is pretty popular. The owners are incredibly nice and attentive. The menu is limited but what they have is done very well. I got a passion fruit tea which was outstanding. All the teas we got were very good. I got a large bowl of drunken noodles that had pot roast style beef in it with an abundance of noodles. It had vegetables as well as an exceptional broth. It really is a full meal in a bowl. I also got an order of chicken dumplings that we're also very good. Firm noodle stuffed with ground chicken goodness. They are large and very flavorful. It was a delicious experience and I enjoyed it very much. Seating can be an issue and the parking lot is small and tight. I reccomend a visit to Angry Dumpling Tea but be prepared to wait for a spot to eat in. They also have some specials from time to time that they post on Facebook.

Fear the Angry Dumpling! I mean, eat the tasty nomy Angry Dumpling. 🫠 I love good authentic tasting Asian food. Therefore I love this place. Angry Dumpling: It's a dumpling dressed for success. It's all gussied up for a night out and it's delicious. The meat tender and well seasoned. No boiled meat flavor you get at some place. The toppings are balanced and make each bite perfect. Pork Dumpling: It's the less angry naked version. You get the same seasoned meat in a tender dumpling, just no toppings. So grab some hot oil and go chunky dunking. Wonton Soup: It's not your typical broth and under seasoned wonton you're used to. Picture a ramen, and pho got in a fight, and 6 little wontons got in the middle to break it up. Could use a little more kick, but that's what hot oil is for. Seating is limited, and so is parking. The menu takes a minute to get used to. But no major issues. It's casual, so leave the black tie at home. Unless you're fighting aliens šŸ‘½.

Service was great. Staff was friendly. I overheard a staff member, who I assume to be a manager or owner, discussing correcting an order for some customers. It was solid customer service.

I was rather disappointed by the food. The presentation of the dumplings was heavily lacking. They had no crimps and fell apart up picking them up. Additionally, they were served in a paper boat partially filled with the water bath that they were stored in. I expected nice, tight, seared dumplings, and received unsealed steamed dough with a pork filling. The pork filling, on the other hand, was great.

The noodle broth lacked body. It tasted as if it were pulled directly from the crockpot in which beef was cooked in. It tasted very oily and lacked depth of flavor or richness. The meat was tender and of good portion, but nothing to write home about. I had expectations of a rich bone broth, perhaps with some herbs at the price point for the beef soup.

The temperature in the restaurant was only a few degrees off the outside temp, which is rather hot as it is July in Tennessee. I assume they were having some sort of trouble with the AC, but I cannot confirm.

Inside was small and seating a bit awkward. The bench seating in front of the window is nice, but it felt a little congested once folks were at the front counter making purchases. It could be that they are still getting that portion of the business figured out.

I cannot speak on the tea, as I did not partake.

I really would like to see a restaurant like this do well in Knoxville. When you have a small specialized menu, the expectation would be that those things are done really well, but that is not...

Lovely new Asian fusion restaurant downtown across the bridge! The decor is quirky, cute, and comfortable. The owner was extremely kind and welcoming, and the rest of the service was fast, alert and friendly. We got the traditional BBQ pork buns, the Angry Dumplings with chicken, the Grandpa Noodles, and the Massaman curry (we went two nights in a row). The traditional pork buns were awesome, but I feel they could have had maybe just a bit more meat inside. However, I really liked the texture of the bun and the inner filling was mouth-watering - I just wanted more of it! The Angry Dumplings were delicious, with an explosion of flavor from the savory dumpling, the chili oil heat, and the punch of green onion. The Grandpa Noodles were the perfect dish to have on a cold, rainy night - highly recommend. The Massaman curry had that distinctive nuttiness from the peanuts and the mild coconut milk, and the chicken was tender, but it was lacking anything resembling spice/heat. I know Southerners aren't known for having a high spice tolerance, but this needs a little kick! I also got the House Boba tea on the staff's recommendation and it was insanely delicious. I would go back just for the boba, but I will certainly go back for the food, as well. Just a couple of tweaks would make this...
