SouthSide Garage — Restaurant in Knoxville

SouthSide Garage is your Mecca for the summer. They have so much outdoor space that you can always find a spot to sit. They have tons of outdoor games to play and their indoor garage space is as nicely shaded as the outside. They have a full bar, which is a nice change to the “brewery row” thanks to places like HiWire and Alliance, giving visitors an option for something other than just beer. Yes you can get Kombucha- but you can get it spiked too.

They have done a great job working with local food trucks to have some amazing food options and they do rotate. The space is kid and pet friendly. Ducked into Southside Garage to try out the Oakwood food truck. I ordered the Mixed Plate(choice of 2 meats and a side $18). I picked the brisket and pulled pork with coleslaw as the side. The meat was excellent I got both BBQ sauces to try...both were tasty but for me a bit too much heat (a little goes a long way). I'm told that my pallet is more sensitive than others. So if you like spicy heat you will enjoy this. The coleslaw is made with red cabbage in a mayo-vinegar combination with halopino pepper so again to hot for me to truly enjoy but good if you put some on the meat on a bun. Southside garage is a lovely bar, Coffee shop (Mia Piccola), and Residential Food Truck (Dia De)

Southside garage is a one stop for everything for me. I go there in the morning for my coffee fix and sometimes even to study and do work there in a peaceful environment when I am working from home.

Then at night the vibes change. It is Dinner at the amazing food truck, some really good drinks, and maybe what I use the most is the giant trash can pong in the background (yes niche but yes fun) The cornhole, and OfCourse the bocce ball (That anyone can rent and play!)
