The Park is Beautiful, it has gave South Knoxville a Wonderful place to bring your family, your family pet and to meet up with a few friends. But here in the near future we are going to loose our precious park to 230 Apartment Dwellers. It's going to be there private park. The Apartments are going to Kill the Beautiful view instead you will see Ugly Apartments Restricting the View and Killing the Habitat for some of our furry friends. That's just Great to Look out My Kitchen Window is to see Ugly Apartments Staining My View. What are they doing to our quite neighborhood. I've lived in South Knoxville All My Life 60 years plus and here close to the Park 29 years. I was so Excited when the Park came to South Knoxville. But we don't need to put up Apartments in every nook and cranny. Your killing something called a Neighborhood. I had a funny feeling that it was too good to be true that our Facelift for South Knoxville will bring a Frankenstein effect to some. This is why I'm giving a 2 Star...
Read moreSuttree Landing Park is a park on the south Knoxville waterfront. It's named after the the Cormac McCarthy book of the same name about a shiftless alcoholic who drinks his way across town, having many crude misadventures before Suttree has a psychotic break in the Smoky mountains and then moves to Michigan. Much like the book, the park is beautiful and unsettling, located as it is on a gorgeous stretch of river that is right next to a gas refinery. The area immediately adjacent to the park will soon be filled with townhouses, and those townhouses will soon thereafter be filled with people who will no doubt act like the park is theres and theres...
Read moreAbsolutely love this park. My dog truly enjoys going for walks here. It’s been a great place to walk around in the summertime and a great spot for a picnic or just to relax a bit. Before the apartments, condos and parking lot, this was a true hidden gem of South Knoxville. Since the explosion of housing, the ability to park or easily access the park has become more challenging. It’s better to park elsewhere and bike/walk here. The kid zones are good and I see a lot of families bringing their kids. It’s a good space for the size of the park. I do wish more people would pick up after their pets, especially since waste bins are all over the park. This is a nice place to watch fireworks but fills quickly, so come early if you want a spot. They have added a dock to get in your kayak or canoe into the water easily. Beware of larger boats that speed through when leaving the...
