This was my first time visiting the restaurant. My friend and I were seated right away. There was a nice crowd of people inside and out, however, there were plenty of empty tables so to me it wasn't crazy busy. Haley waited on us. I asked for coffee and water. She poured 1/2 cup of coffee and didn't bring anymore coffee until I asked her for more and asked if she would bring a carafe to the table. And this was after the food was brought out. I ordered the Tri-fecta (2 eggs, Belgian waffle, bacon). I asked for over easy eggs. I went on to say I wanted the yolks to be runny and the whites to be cooked. She told me I could order the eggs with the yolks runny but the whites probably wouldn't be totally cooked, or I could order the eggs with the whites totally cooked but my yolks would be medium cooked. ??? I told her I wanted my yolks runny and left it at that. I asked for crisp bacon. When the food was served my plate had ONE completely cooked egg and bacon that wasn't anywhere near crisp. The Belgian waffle was delicious. I brought the egg & bacon to Haley's attention. She told the cook about my food and another woman brought out a plate with one runny yolk egg (white wasn't completely cooked throughout), crisp bacon that was on the edge of tasting burnt, one piece of toast with butter already spread on it, and fried potatoes (that I hadn't ordered). ??? I didn't ask for any other corrections because it was obvious at that point that it would be hopeless. I was charged $11.29 for the Tri-fecta meal (I thought the menu said $10.49) and $2.99 for coffee. I didn't even question the bill because I just wanted to leave and delete the visit from my mind. My friend and I wanted to try First Watch because there were a lot of positive reviews and I enjoy trying new places. I don't know if this visit was just a fluke but I don't plan on going back. There are too many other restaurants to go to where I will get what's on the menu, cooked the way I want, and charged correctly. Plus $2.99 for coffee?...
Read morePoor Management and Customer Service (Hostess) First off, I'd like to say that our server, Alexis, was very pleasant. She was attentive, but not over-attentive. She was very friendly, and I have zero complaints about her. The hostess, Allison, was extremely rude. We had a larger party (6 adults), and it was a busy Saturday. We expected to wait. However, when our table was ready, we did not receive a text message like we were told. Instead of coming outside and calling our name when we didn't come, Allison gave our table away and took our name off the list. My mom went in and asked what was going on after we had waited an hour and were told 45 minutes. Allison told her we didn't come when we were texted, and my mom showed her that we did not receive a text. Instead of apologizing and putting us at the top of the list, she was rude. My mom got the feeling we got put at the bottom of the list so she went back in to make sure we were at the top. Again, Allison was rude to her but did put us at the top. This time, when our table was ready, what Allison should have done was come out and called our name. (We were right outside where she could see us.) She did not do this. Instead, she knocked on the window and waved for us to come in. She then walked us to the table, threw the menus down, and walked away. As soon as our server came, my mom asked to speak to the manager. He could have come and apologized and given us a discount or free appetizer or something. But, after Alexis asked him to come to our table at least three times, he still never showed. At this point we were done with our meal and ready to leave. Would not recommend, and we will not return. I've never had a poor experience at the Fountain City location so that's where I'll be going...
Read moreToday was a very crowded gameday Saturday and therefore we anticipated a wait. We were waiting for our party to get there so it wasn't a problem. I was told (by the hostess- Alex)the wait would be approx 45 min and I said OK. At the one hour mark I went to check the status. The hostess stated she had paged us awhile ago (of which I confirmed the number paged) and that we had been taken off the list. I showed her my text history in proof there was no text. She became very abrupt and rude in her response . We had watched her come outside and get people our entire wait but she never came out for us. She finally stated that the people that were at the only large table were about done and she would seat us there. LIE, I had seen the one man seated there for approx 15 min waiting on his party to get there. When I pointed out I doubted that since they hadn't even arrived much less eaten yet that I didn't believe they would be leaving anytime soon. She then very loudly starts saying "mam, mam you will get seated when I have something". I went back out to inform the group and wait. She finally BANGED on the window to let us know our table was ready. She then led us to our table and literally threw our menus and flatware in the table and walked off without a word.......really. Such a poor poor experience. On a positive note our server is precious (Alexis). I have requested to speak with manager (and maybe not post a negative 10 as our review. (And, the bathroom is atrocious). Positive the food was really good and could have been an excellent experience minus A SUPER RUDE HOSTESS NAMED ALEX. Final note requested the manager as soon as the server came to the table and he never responded so now I will post a...
