I decided to stop by status dough before work to grab a variety of doughnuts for my coworkers, since itās right before Christmas. I got there 10 minutes early. When it was 7 and I noticed the worker coming to unlock the door I then got out my car, and waited by the door. After swiftly unlocking the door she ran to the back. Just mentioning that door is very hard to open from the outside after being locked all night. It would have been kind of nice for her to have helped opened the door and greeted me. When I ordered at the counter I asked for a variety of 6 doughnuts. She said there were only two flavors available. I asked if I was here too early and if they open at 7. And she said yes they open and at 7. Thatās it. So I asked how long would it be for the rest to be ready. And she said they will slowly start adding more flavors within 30 minutes of each other. So I was a bit confused and asked again, I thought yall open at 7? And she just nodded. So I just said okay and left. As leaving I heard her laughing at me. How unprofessional. This lady is laughing at a customer deciding to leave after an establishment didnāt have the products advertised upon opening?? I donāt understand why she was so unprofessional. This isnāt abnormal, someone not having enough time to wait 30 minutes for only another flavor when on their way to work. Itās a doughnut shop. Early morning traffic is the norm. Why open if you donāt have products to sell?? Absolutely terrible service. I love the doughnuts so I hate that now I donāt want to go back due to an unprofessional worker with a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot bad, but not great. My daughter and I have a weekly tradition of getting donuts on Saturday mornings. When I learned there was a new shop, I was hopeful to add them to the rotation. They don't open until 8am on the weekends, so that was the first letdown. So we made a special trip on Sunday to give them a try. My above average expectations were not met. The donuts tasted ok but were quite dry. We were there around 11am, so granted a few hours after open, but the donuts tasted like they were made several hours before. Or even a day old. And at $2-3 per item, you gotta be better than what I had. I won't write them off completely, but I'm not going to make much of an effort to go back soon.
PS. Went back a couple weeks ago, about the same time of day, and the donuts were better. Maybe it was a bad day the first time. Maybe business has picked up, so they are making more donuts after they open. Maybe they have worked out the kinks in their timing. I don't know. But I enjoyed the second visit much more...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreStatus Dough has the absolute best doughnuts in Knoxville, and weāre so delighted to have found them a few years ago. And now weāre even more loyal fans since learning last week that their Bearden location is now peanut-free and tree nut-free! This is so important to us, as we have a 7 y/o with life-threatening food allergies, and heās never been able to enjoy them before now. That changed on Sunday, and he has declared the doughnuts as āDECLIOUS!ā :) (We also appreciate that they have vegan options.) Each doughnut they offer, regular or specialty, is the right mix of light and fluffy or dense and chewy, and weāve never found one we didnāt like. Each doughnut is a dessert in itself, as they are HUGE, and they are such a value for the price. We always say weāre only going to get one or two when we go in, but we canāt resist the deal of the half-dozen. And on top of all that, the staff are always approachable and nice. Thank you for offering such quality products that our whole...
