Ham'N Goodys — Restaurant in Knoxville

This place is seriously the greatest place on earth!!!(no exaggeration) They make the best desserts you will ever taste in your life. It's just a quaint little cafe like restaurant with lunch options as well as dessert options and ham of course. Everything they have is made from scratch from their tea cakes & all assortments of cookies to their amazing cakes of all kinds!(their red velvet is OMG). Most of all though if you try nothing else, be sure to try a dozen of their lemon cookies!! They are honestly to die for!! They have this little ham n goodys bus that comes out to surrounding cities all over east Tennessee to set up and sell their amazing goodies. So if you don't want to drive to Knox just check out their FB page and be on the lookout for when they maybe coming to your city next! I stopped in today to get a dozen lemon cookies for my husband . As I entered, another woman came in also looking for lemon cookies. The clerk said they were out of them. She was very aloof with no apology nor concern for her customers. The other lady said " This is not the first time.. why don't you make a double batch of lemon cookies so you don't run out?" The clerk just ignored her and we looked at each other. I had been looking at other items there but the clerk was so indifferent to getting a sale that we both just walked out. My husband just came home and told me he stopped there also looking for lemon cookies and was also told they were out. There were TWO other customers beside him looking for lemon cookies as well. They all walked out without a sale because the clerk never apologized or tried to sell something else. She just stood there looking away ignoring them. That is 5 customers lost with no sale ..that we witnessed alone. My husband said he will never go back to Ham N Goodys again....

The following review is ONLY about the lemon cookies. I never order anything else (since they switched the almond cookies to almond tea cakes anyway). I miss the almond cookies. They were much better than the tea cakes they have now. I can make my own deli sandwich for a heck of a lot less than $9 and my cake icing has way more flavor than theirs ever has. Just my opinion...

Literally the only thing I have come here for in recent years is the Lemon Cookies, but no more. I don't know what they have done to the recipe... if they've just started using cheapo ingredients or if they've just up and changed it. Seems ridiculous to me to change something that made you famous, but they've done it and I'll be returning no more.

Actually, that's not true. I'm going to attempt to get a refund for the cookies we couldn't eat. Not holding my breath, but I figure it's worth a try...
