Our first order from Hibachi 2 days ago was such a bad meal that they were nice enough to credit us for the experience. Today was our second attempt and was unfortunately worse than the first. The previous meal was easy to order using the online app and both times the delivery was quick and friendly. Unfortunately the egg rolls had dried, dark burns on one side where they had been temperature held for too long, perhaps hours. The egg roll sauce was awesome and helped them go down. The chicken hibachi was dry and rubbery and they left off the mushrooms for some reason. The sirloin hibachi was much better, but an order of extra mushrooms was almost none. Maybe they were low on mushrooms and had no way to convey that on an online order, but it should have been addressed since it is a standard ingredient in the dish that we happened to be looking forward to. So we called a complaint and they credited the meals. Nice. Today we gave them the second chance they deserved. It was a second failure. Since the chicken was so unappetizing last time, we both got the sirloin with extra mushrooms. There were plenty this time! Unfortunately the egg rolls were, again, old. The flavor and texture of the meals were much different than last time. The sirloin was charred (well done) and leathery for some reason. The previous order it was more medium rare and was perfect. Definitely not consistent, so be aware. The sauces overall tasted smoky and bitter. Something is definitely is off as it was completely different this time and was so inedible we could not finish even a quarter of the dish. The order this time was done over the phone and the guy didn't have any order questions about rice preferences, or steak wellness, etc. He did argue a bit about our comped meals from before and I'd hate to think that our meals were sabotaged but that's where my head goes after the call and tasting the results. There aren't many Asian delivery options in the area and that's unfortunate because I strongly urge anyone considering trying this Hibachi to order a...
Read moreSO; just moved here from South Carolina, and I figured I would try this out. It wasn't a horrible experience. I describe this through pros v cons:
PROS:
-Customer Service: The folks who work there are definitely not rude.
-It is easy to place and order, and a overall convenient location to get your order.
-It doesn't taste bad. It doesn't taste awesome, but it's not a bad taste.
-Quantity is ok. Not great, but ok.
CONS:
-Cost: for what you get in quality and quantity, this should be 5/5 star japanese food by takeout standards. $15 up a plate, is Kyoto Miyabi's Express prices buddy. This ain't Kyoto Miyabi's.
-White Sauce: Has an abnormal taste compared to most "Yum Yum" sauces. Most are typically made onsite, and by using Mayonnaise as an ingredient. This one just doesn't taste right.
Will I go back??? Probably not. It seems that Knoxville doesn't have a go-between hibachi Japanese place for lunch and simple orders that is worth a dam. I'll just have to limit myself to the higher end places and pay $30 a plate for...
Read moreI have never as a customer been treated so rudely. We order delivery and the person who's card it was purchased under wasn't available to sign. So I signed for it but was not authorized to give the driver a tip (which by the way is optional and up to the customer). So then we received a call requesting we provide a tip. This is extremely unprofessional. She agreed to give $3 but then decided she wasn't comfortable allowing someone other then her writing in a tip amount. She suggested that if the driver was to return back out here that she would provide the tip. The person she talked too Denis continued to be rude and unprofessional and told us he would not be delivering to us again. We will tell everyone about this experience and we work at Tennova Hospital which I am sure is a lot of business for your restaurant. The order was wrong and the sauce that we paid for was busted open.
Update! The owner called and apologized for how all of this was handled. I do appreciate the sincerity of the owner and hope that this issue doesn't happen to...
