We came there for two birthdays. First, I want to say they are lucky we didn't sue them... YET! My husband and his friend both had birthdays. The male wait staff apparently, thought it would be funny to throw a whipped cream pie in his face with a paper plate. What they didn't know is that he had just had nasal and septum surgery on his nose a month prior. This is a liability and could have sent him to the hospital!!! He had a nose bleed after that incident. Therefore, we are going to the doctor to see if there's damage now. If there is, they will be in big huge trouble.
Secondly, the ONLY good thing about this place was that the food was OK, it's marginal at best.
Worse than anything regarding the restaurant itself, besides my husband's nose being hit, was the service. We had some woman who could barely speak English, didn't understand the menu when we asked her questions, and was never present to help us out. The service was HORRIBLE! We had to walk around to find our waitress on several occasions. I even got my own drink at the bar, which was another nightmare.
Thirdly, the drinks were HORRIBLE!!! The little young girl bartender had NO idea what she was making or how to make the drinks.
There are PLENTY of Mexican restaurants around town, don't go to this one! Don't waste your hard earned money on this place. I do NOT...

But right off the bat we could tell our server had an attitude, standoffish if you will. We ordered the queso fundido, it came out in an overly large bowl and look very good, however we soon learned that the wrong type of cheese was used and the dip became very stringy to the point it was impossible to eat, by the time it cooled it was a gelatinous mess. Our food came shortly afterwards, and was ok, nothing special. I had the tacos al pastor and the bowl of street corn, the tacos were mediocre at best and the street corn was watery. She had the taquitos, which were good size and not too bad. We only saw the server once (flagging her down) for a refill, which seemed to be a bother. After we finished, we ended up waiting for quite awhile to get our check as she was nowhere to be found. We finally saw her and once again flagged her down. Overall I’d say the place is ok. Just...
Read moreOne of the best Mexican cantinas in Knoxville ,very authentic I will spend many lunches and evenings here .The food was above excellent. The staff is excellent the chef is very creative all the food that I've had right at least a five-star. You are greeted immediately taken to your table. The staff can highly recommend certain meals whatever you are desiring and explain in detail what you are receiving me. Was actually greeted by the restaurant manager. Not too many places you can go and the staff ask you if everything about your meal was what you were expecting and deserving. Cocktails are excellent large variety of different drinks. Please try to make at least one trip here It is a real treat. And I will be having lunch again tomorrow.
