1-24-25: I would shop at Kroger every week if it wasn’t for the poor customer service I get when my groceries are bagged. I add notes to the comment boxes to request that only two containers of milk be placed in a bag, that four is way too heavy, to place boxes of cereal, crackers, etc. in a bag because they just toss them in the car without bagging them, to place bananas in a bag. These notes are continuously ignored. I have to get out and make sure that my groceries are being bagged as I requested. An item I had ordered wasn’t even given to me today. I had to call the 800# for a refund. I’ve talked with supervisors over the years I’ve shopped at Kroger but nothing changes. I keep hoping something positive will happen. I don’t think I should just stop shopping there but I may end up doing that. I wish Kroger would do something about the lack of caring (?), the laziness (?)… just figure out why some of their employees aren’t doing very good jobs. The employees that do a good job are great.
3 years ago: I place online grocery orders more than I go in the store. The reason for that is I usually pick up groceries for my mother too and we both have some health issues. My biggest complaint with Kroger pick up is they have employees that don't follow instructions. They make the good employees look bad. I use the comment box that's available when I have a specific request. I will ask them to place 3-4 cans of food in one bag instead of putting 8-10 cans in one bag. I also ask for no more than two 1/2 gallon containers of milk to be placed in one bag instead of four. It's rare that they do what I've asked. Eggs have been put in the bottom of a bag with other groceries placed on top! I've asked for yellow squash and was given butternut squash! ??? A bone in ham was put in a flimsy produce bag and then NOT placed in a grocery bag! ONE green pepper was placed in a plastic bag. I've asked for a few items to be placed in a paper bag yet they will still put them in a plastic grocery bag. I could go on and on but these are just a few things that come to mind. I've talked with several managers, with Tyrin (Ty) more than anyone else. I feel that Tyrin has tried to get these employees to pay more attention but nothing changes. These employees make the store look bad. I've worked with the public for many years and it's not easy. Everyone should work with the public at least once in their life. Saying that, I worked hard, followed instructions, showed up everyday and on time. I wasn't hanging on my cell phone when I was supposed to be working. I haven't had this trouble with Walmart, Food City, and Ingle's. To be fair Ingle's just started offering online ordering. Hopefully they will continue to do as well as they have on the four orders I've placed so far. Kroger is the closest grocery store to me & I especially like their produce. I would like to continue to give Kroger my business, however, that...
Read moreThis poor review is for Kroger in general. Emory road Kroger is the best outside of this experience. During my visit, I encountered a man who appeared to be promoting some sort of rewards program. However, his approach and the close proximity at which he stood made me uncomfortable. He did not clearly communicate that he was discussing a credit card; instead, he framed it as an extension of the rewards program I already have. He wanted me to send the word “consent” to a text number without showing me what I was consenting to. I tried to see the screen of his tablet and it referenced US Bank in the terms which made me feel uneasy about the whole thing. When I expressed my concern and indicated that I wanted to walk away, he continued to press the issue, which left me feeling trapped and overwhelmed. This experience was not only unsettling but also detracted from my shopping experience, which is not something I expect when visiting Kroger. After confirming with a Kroger associate that he was sent by Kroger I felt terrible that he probably was making money based on the amount of customers that sign up because he seemed absolutely desperate. I wouldn’t have signed up either way but felt bad for the guy UNTIL about five minutes later he was following me through some of the only empty aisles in the store and I eventually moved very quickly to the front of the store so I would be around other people. It was just so annoying and unnecessary and not something I wanted to deal with at the grocery store, of all places. Customers should never feel pressured or misled while shopping for groceries. And if you must use deceptive tactics to sell or promote a product, service or idea, you don’t have a very good product, service or idea. The lack of transparency immediately made the whole thing seem so sketchy. If this is to help people make money in some way, please do something better. Kroger has plenty of money to help the community without making them harass...
Read moreBig! Maybe too big!
The store is immaculate as it is practically brand new. But, if you just want to grocery shop plan on being there forever! The store is so large that it takes a long time just to get from one end of the store to the other. The deli is at the opposite side of the pharmacy so if you need lunch meat and deodorant you will be walking the whole stretch of the store.
There is a whole side with fast food counters - sushi, Chinese, salad bar, sandwiches...I tried the Chinese and it was delicious. There is even a self checkout by the food so you can get in and out quite quickly. My only complaint is that the hours aren't listed (not anywhere I could see) so when we went to grab dinner from there one night after 6:00 it was disappointing that they were closed already. When I mentioned it to an employee they seemed pretty clueless and said they must have closed already.
Kroger's prices are good and the sales are really good. I like the quality of their store brand items and their app offers free items every Friday. This location is the nicest in my area but I usually won't drive the extra 10 minutes to go there because it's exhausting due...
