PetSmart — Local services in Knoxville

The store is in a great location. Very clean. Very well stocked.However, I gave this store a 1 star and wish I could've given it a negative rating. Customer Service and employee attitudes go far when you have a business, no matter what business it is or where your located. The attitude of employees enhances alot of the customer satisfaction. I have worked with customers for 30+ years. Today, I witnessed something I was appalled with at this location. There was a lady working cash register and customer service that was talking about another customer to customers inside the store. The customer she was talking about was looking at items that were located near the cash register but she apparently didn't this person to shop or look at those items. Her employee name tag had the name Janine on it. I am not sure if she is always this way or not but this was my first time in this location and because of this experience I can promise it will be my last time! So warning to anyone that shops there you or may not know but apparently Janine does not like certain customers and likes to discuss them with other customers when she is scanning items at the...

In all honesty I was scared to purchase training sessions from pet smart based off of a handful of reviews/blog post I had seen. However, I am a college student who wanted to spend a little less than the typical fee for training elsewhere, so l decided to turn to pet smart anyways. I purchased the beginner, intermediate, and advanced training classes for a little under $300 which is the cost for one beginner class elsewhere. Though I skimped on pay I don’t believe I skimped on quality. Currently Pepper (my dog) and I are on our first week of intermediate training. Immediately after meeting Vince (the trainer) Pepper opened up and was very comfortable around him, which is very rare. Not only does Pepper enjoy him but I enjoy how flexible and attentive Vince is when it comes to questions/ explaining why we need to do something a certain way. Not only am I extremely impressed with the quality of training both Pepper and I are getting (yes it’s a learning process for humans too), but I am blown away by how much my relationship with my dog has improved. Just another pet store with many items priced up to double the original market value. They do price match but they were charging 130$ for an item at walmart that was 60$. We paid an arm and a leg for some of their dog harnesses. Some of them have an awkward hold on our dogs and others fit do fit well. But we also had a small variety of options so kinda dealt with what they had. Shopping here is a hit or miss if you want a bang for your buck. Imagine going to a Grocery Store with Convenient Store prices and quality. This is my experience at least. They do have some good quality harnesses and leashes though. They are durable and some of them can withstand a large dogs force.

Shop here if you have no other choice. Sorry PetSmart. Honesty is policy!

Also the groomers at the location out west are very hasty with their grooms. They almost took off our recently deceased poodles ear by being either too rushy or too aggressive. Some dogs squirm but that doesn't mean use unnecessary force and aggression. Use only the amount of force necessary and never direct anger towards the dog.
