Love this mom and pop! We try to find these places as we go out and about. I had the Greek omelet. However, I took off the mushrooms (we were told they are canned and I dont like canned mushrooms) and substituted green peppers. Honestly, I would do it again, even if the mushrooms were fresh because it was absolutely perfection.
Because we own a cafe, it is so hard for me to actually "like" food because I am picky on quality, freshness and just that "love factor" instead of the cow herding food joints. If you get it, then you know what I am talking about.
Nora was our waitress and she made excellent recommendations and was on top of taking care of us, so that is appreciated!
I also ordered pancakes with blueberries, bananas and pecans. Hubby is NOT a fan of pecans OR pancakes but tasted mine and was like, oh wow, that is good. No syrup is required....it is a perfect balance of sweet and all the yumminess!
Hubby got the potato omelet. He ate it all (unlike him) with the exception of the one bite I took. It was really good. I just dont eat a lot of potatoes.
We walked out with a bill that was around $25 with literally 3 meals (because there was a full order of the loaded pancakes), plus our omelets! We did not get drinks, but seriously, priced well, clean place, EXCELLENT FOOD, AND Great service....checks all the boxes for me and that SAYS A LOT!
Oh, we will be back....that is guaranteed! Go here over other places in the area (we have tried most of them) and thank...
Read moreStopped in on our way back to New Orleans after it was recommended by a local. Coffee was a bit mild for my taste, but it was smooth. The fried steak was seasoned well and fork tender. I thought the home fries and the white gravy could use a pinch of salt. I appreciate this as opposed to oversalted food found most places. Interesting how home fries mean different things to different people. These are like what I found Mass- a smashed then pan fried variety. Near me home fries are often the squared Brabant potatoes, but many don't realize it. Also worth note for the fair price that comes along with the service. I found myself tipping more simply because the service standard demanded a higher tip than what would have been 20%. Friendly server that clearly enjoys the house she works in, and appreciates it's food. When waiters enjoy their job it often says more about the house and how it is run than the individual. All that said, this was one experience in an empty restaurant right after they opened. Could be your experience is different, but I'd bet you'd forgive quite a bit...
Read moreWhy would I eat at Rami's Cafe again? First of all the service was very quick and friendly. No one rushed you and everybody seemed to be having a good time.
The food was very good, I can't say it was the best breakfast I've ever eaten, but I've dined at so many places over my lifetime, it's hard to find the best place every time I go out to eat.
The only negative things I could say were the sausage gravy could have used more pepper, the chicken fried steak was more of a frozen patty and the coffee price was a bit high.
Not horrible things mind you. I could always add a little more pepper, for the price it would be hard to expect real steak and with Starbucks charging what they charge for a cup of coffee it's understandable.
But here's the real reason, compared to chain trendy places like First Watch the food was much tastier and a heck of a lot more affordable. Honestly even fast food joints can get more expensive these days and the quality of fast food is abysmal.
So give Rami's Cafe a try I'm sure...
