So I go in order an unsweet tea,, soured as in rotten bad. Go to order a margarita, I am a herradura silver fan. All of their house Margaritas are pre-made along with their top shelf??? Who does that? So you literally cannot choose only the tequila that you want ... If that was not enough chips not fresh, is this really a Mexican restaurant? So then I ordered guacamole, big mistake. you know that horrible oxidized taste guacamole gets when it's not fresh or preserved correctly? Yep this is another place that that happens. Again I ask is this really a Mexican restaurant?? The best thing I ordered was the chicken fajita taco salad it was actually fresh and actually correct. I could have done without the 40 minute wait especially while they were not busy. Then I speak with the bartender and ask her about the whole thing. she politely and very nicely informed me that they charge extra to do a fresh non pre-made with house tequila margarita... Again are you serious who does this???
So she makes it kind of, I had asked for a raspberry Chambord float.. not possible had to settle for amaretto. Which I do not mind at all, in fact I'm a fan of amaretto too. So I get the more expensive handmade Margarita, here's the kicker. .. it does not have anything close to a homemade margarita mix instead it is straight lime juice virtually and so sour I didn't even finish it. if you are an experienced drinker or know what you like I do not recommend ordering a margarita here unless you have no preference or you get a straight shot. if you aren't experienced matured palletted drinker go somewhere else!!!
Y'all draw your own...
Read moreIt pains me to give Senor Taco a poor review. But in the pandemic, they have draw backs that can't be ignored. When I went to pickup food last night, there were numerous maskless patrons up and milling around. The entry way creates a bottle neck, patrons gathering both inside and outside the door. I realize that these issues aren't necessarily Senor Taco's fault, but it is something that I feel others need to be aware of. We won't be getting take out from them in the evening hours until the pandemic is resolved.
Now, the things that Senor Taco could easily remedy. They do not offer any sort of curbside delivery. If I could avoid going into the building I would be much more comfortable. They also charged us for chips and salsa last night. My husband didn't order chips and salsa, he simply asked for some of one of the salsas that is available, complimentary, in the restaurant. I don't think it's reasonable to charge us ($4!) for something that has historically been included in the meal. I do not know if those eating in are now also charged for chips and salsa.
Overall, their response to the pandemic has left me feeling unsafe when picking up food. And charging for chips and salsa makes picking up a quick meal almost 50% more expensive. So a longtime favorite gets a lower than...
Read moreI used to revel in the charm of this place—the staff was warm, the atmosphere alive with energy. But like so many other restaurants, it’s succumbed to the all-too-familiar trend of sameness. They’ve joined the ranks of those who source their ingredients from the same bland suppliers, and it shows. Prices have skyrocketed; you’ll now spend over $63 for a lunch that used to be a culinary adventure.
Take the jalapeños, for instance. They were absurdly oversized—more akin to dill pickles than anything spicy. Three of them cost $10, and they were served boiled, seeds intact. I had to send them back, it was so laughably unappetizing. The experience felt like a culinary crime scene, reminiscent of a lackluster meal in some forgotten corner of Central Mexico, where the standards have plummeted so low it’s almost disrespectful to eat off the floor.
The waitress seemed oblivious to my plight, neglecting even to provide a plate. I found myself, with a resigned smirk, eating off a piece of tinfoil—hardly the gourmet experience I once cherished. It’s a shame to watch something that once thrived become just another casualty in the sea...
