The first time we went the staff were rude so we didn’t eat.
We went back last night and there were different workers on staff (including the owner) who were nicer so we ate. Wish we hadn’t.
The good: french fries were great, but also a very small portion.
The bad: the burgers were dominated by the cheese taste which is at best a very cheap grade of orange American cheese. The regular bun had a bitter crust and deflated to chewy flat and tasteless after the first bite. The gluten free bun was dry, and crumbled into an uneatable mess.
I specifically asked for no bacon but was charged for and received bacon. I don’t eat pork, but for $1.75 it appeared to be a very fatty cut of the meat and only two slices which were about 2 inches each.
Out of all the toppings, (and I got them all) the only discernible taste was mustard and ketchup. A shame since there were two kinds of onions, jalapeños and many other flavors that I would have loved to experience on my burger.
The actual ground beef patties were very pretty much flavorless even plain.
Overall, it took way too long to get our order (and the burgers were actually cold as soon as we picked them up) The price was not commensurate to the quality at $20 per person not counting a tip which we always gladly include. The only “upgrade” I asked for was the gluten-free bun and because I asked for everything except cheese and bacon on my burger I was also charged for ketchup which interestingly came on the side in a cup as well as on the burger. I mention this because the other person in our party didn’t have any side of ketchup with their meal and they also ordered a plain Build Your Own burger with fries— a real shame that you have to pay $2 extra to have onions and sauce removed from your sandwich.
I had high hopes for this establishment based on all the hype it’s received, but sadly, it appears to be based more on the excitement of the locale and Randy Boyd’s politics rather than real patrons who value quality and consistency in their...
Read moreT. Ralph’s is hands-down one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. I’ve been three times now, and every visit has been nothing short of amazing. The food is so fresh and full of flavor that it’s hard not to rave about it. The burgers are perfect—juicy, flavorful, and made with locally sourced meat that you can really taste the difference in. And the bun? So soft, it’s like it was custom-made to be the ultimate burger bun.
Now, let’s talk about the fries. I don’t say this lightly: they’re the best fries I’ve ever had. Perfectly crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right. I could eat a whole basket of them without even thinking twice (and have).
Everything at T. Ralph’s is handmade, and it shows. From the care in the cooking to the flavors in every bite, you can tell this place takes pride in what they do. The staff is great, too—so friendly and welcoming.
If you’re anywhere near Knoxville, you need to try T. Ralph’s. Fresh ingredients, unforgettable flavor, and fries that will ruin all other fries for you—it’s the kind of place you’ll keep coming back to. I...
Read moreSince my first 3 visits, I have revisited the establishment 8+ times, & I've had the BYOB Burger each time. They have made noticeable improvements. My orders were all correct & the burgers, I must say, were pretty dang tasty. I still think that their price point is too high since $25 is ALOT for burger and fries (no drink), but I'd be willing to guess that rent/lease at the Kern's Food Hall is not cheap, & neither are current beef prices. Regardless, they have ironed out the kinks that I initially experienced, as well as deleted from this review. It's obvious that they've made many improvements b/c I haven't experienced any of the previous issues that I faced within the 6 months that they opened. I've been over 8+ times since they opened. That says quite a bit in itself. They are consistently very good & I will be back when I jones for a burger. Their burger is finger lickin'...
