Original Zomato Review 6/21/15 - Oscar's Taco Shop is a fusion of So. Cal. / Mexican fare. The standard carne asada (steak) taco is much different from a steak, onion, and cilantro one that one may order from a standard taqueria. It's good. We tried the chicken quesadilla and it was also unlike an expected version. I didn't like it as well as the standard chicken/cheese versions.

The rice/bean "make it a meal" wasn't really enough to taste--there were only 3-4 fork fulls per item. The salsa verde was bland--a little heat for a second or two and then nothing.

The chips were fabulous--freshly deep fried and warm with the right amount of salt. I could have eaten an entire bag.

I'd also recommend fixing the ice machine--drinking lukewarm sodas really take away from my overall score. I'll try it again sometime to see if my...

Third time eating here. The chorizo breakfast burrito was superb! And even though the small place was overly crowded, we got our food fairly quick and we were all pleased with our meal. The bathrooms are where I knock off stars. My 5 and 4 year old had to use the bathroom while we were here. Asked for the key and walked down the hall to a bathroom that is designated for employees of this shop, the cookie place next door, and apparently paying customers as well. I unlocked the door and walked into a bathroom with urine on the floor, paper towels clogging up one toilet and the awful stench of other unknowns. That was the fastest they've ever used the bathroom. Definitely Use the bathroom before coming in to eat....

Tacos deserve a 6 star! Fish taco is perfect. Caritas taco perfect. Crispy beef taco perfect. Carne asada taco, perfect!! Rolled tacos were delish with guacamole and lettuce! We've been looking for some authentic Mexican tacos for 2 years. Stuff that does not have food drowning in melted white cheese. This is it. They aren't street style tacos and yet, they are. The Decor is a bit dated, but I'm not rating decor here. It's the food. Here parking is a bit crammed, we did park nearby but only because we came in off the highway and couldn't see the parking lot from the Google directions taking us around the block first.
