I'm a long time whataburger fan. I was so excited for the whatabutger to open this Monday August 25, 2025. I finally went the next day around midnight. You have to understand, I love whataburger so much that I have driven 4 hours to another state(AL) just to get my whataburger fix, then it opened in Nashville and a half hours away. I've done that trip, too. Anyways, I went at midnight on 26th, when there was still a hour delay to get food. I was excited because there was actually a place to sit. I understand that the restaurant has just opened, and the poor employees looked frazzled from the frantic pace of opening days. I ordered a triple meat w/ cheese burger,a large orange fanta, 2 apple pies, and a honey butter chicken biscuit. Everything but my burger was making and fresh. The burger ended up being a triple meat without cheese which was not just beyond well done, but I would venture to say burned and believe it or not actually cold. I have been to whataburger all over the country, and I have never had a poor experience. The food has always been hot and fresh especially the burgers. I do take into consideration that the restaurant had just opened and that the staff may have been overworked and undertrained. I wanted to order a breakfast burger without bacon, but the staff didn't know how to do that nor did they know how to add cheese to a burger combo. That speaks to poor training and management. The staff was very friendly and attentive and they did a wonderful job. I just wish my burger had not been charred and had been fresh. All my other food was excellent and was what I expected from Whataburger. I will go again, but maybe a few weeks later, when the staff are more knowledgeable on the menu and less frazzled, hoping the quality is...
Read moreSoft opening day was fantastic. Of course it was busy and there was not enough seating inside and parking was sorta tricky but it’s to be expected in that location by UT. Although they were busy they made it a point to get the orders right and service was friendly and efficient. We did have a bigger order so I was surprised they got it 100% accurate. Kudos! Most places are rushing to put in orders they carelessly get it wrong then have to remake the original order which in turn takes more time if they were to take their time and get it right at the beginning. Thanks for quality service and amazing food. Hamburgers were bigger than other places by far. Their jr meal burgers were about the size of a McDonald’s hamburger. The pickly pear raspberry drink was phenomenally refreshing. Chicken strips were tastey, I liked the pepper you could taste through the strips. The french fries were hot, fresh and right size, not too thin but not too thick. Milkshakes were mediocre but the kids still enjoyed them. Onion rings were also good and I liked that the hamburger had diced onion inside rather than 1 big ole ring in the middle. Also ordered a cookie for dessert and they were pretty large so that was another pleasant surprise. Overall I would go back to try their chicken sandwich and get another raspberry drink regardless of the hectic area and parking situation. Well worth it once in awhile to stop by here. My kids enjoyed the experience and food quality. Thank you for a lovely night and dinner. My husband was worried he might be hungry still after ordering but that didn’t happen he was completely stuffed by the...
Read moreI gave them 5 stars because the cstomer service was excellent and they got our order right which is unusual for Fast Food, but Whataburger's food is mediocre. It was opening week when we went so there was still a long line and took about an hour to get our food. The food itself is on par with Burger King or Sonic, not bad, just nothing special either. We tried the jalapeno burger and it just tasted like mustard and onions, also the lettuce and tomato weren't fresh (pretty typical of fast food burgers), so I would modify the default toppings for that one. The Wrangler burger was better, but still pretty bland and no better than a Bacanotor from Wendy's, the spicey sauce didn't really add much flavor. Their wings are expensive, more than a dollar each, and they only sell boneless ones which are just chunks of chicken breast meat. They are no better than any boneless wings you can get anywhere else in Knoxville. I tried their vanilla malt and it was way too sweet with very little malt flavor, tasted like a typical sugar bomb milk shake from McDonald's. Their fries were nothing to write home about, very bland. Fast food prices are way too high to justify going here again. We paid $40 for two medium burger meals with a shake substituted for one drink and an order of 9 wings. I'm pretty disappointed that Whataburger is replacing the old Steak 'n Shakes around Knoxville. Steak 'n Shake is atleast a better value. So far Culver's and In-N-Out have by far the best fast food burgers and excellent customer service. I wouldn't recommend trying here until long after opening. Definitely not worth the wait. We need to get...
