I had an unusually bad experience at Gio's La Canada today. After we ordered and were looking for a table noticed that several tables had yet to be bussed. Then when I received my BLTA the bacon was raw! It was like there was a blob of warm fat on a croissant. I ordinarily don't send food back but the bacon was uncooked. I asked if they could make the bacon crispy. When the sandwich finally came back out, the bacon was barely cooked. I went up to the counter and asked for a box so I could take my sandwich home and cook the bacon myself. The young women working there were very lackadaisical about it. I was given a box with no apologies. I took it home and threw the bacon in the air fryer over for 6 minutes on reheat and it was crispy perfection. Except the croissant was now soggy. Great local spot and fun to grab a snack or meal at during its open hours in the morning and after noon. Friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend the bfast baguette with veggies, the roasted vegetables panini, the vegetarian sandwich and the golden milk lattes. We always go for the complimentary salad not only for health but because the French salad dressing is great for the salad, whether you eat in on the side or you decide to insert into your sandwich (very good for the breakfast baguette).
