Awesome staff! Warm, friendly, and efficient! Great ice cream shop. They make their ice cream in house. It was good, but nothing too mind blowing. Pretty wide variety of flavors. Staff is a little causal about what flavors have what ingredients, so proceed with caution if you have allergies. They have 3-4 vegan flavors which may help if you have allergies (mostly sorbets). Cup or cone. The other reviews State the portions are huge, but I just think they use multiple small scoops. The regular was about normal size. There is usually a line, but it moves fast. Do not be discouraged by any line. There are outdoor seats scattered around the location and parking lot. Lot is busy, and the spaces aren’t too clearly marked, but it all works. The business is like an old school ice cream stand. You go to the window and place your order, and then they hand you your treats. Not really an indoors per se. Dog and kid friendly. Recommend! It’s about $5/regular ice cream. Four of us - $20 bucks; half cup, and half got cones. We got the sundae that was tasty too; $1 for nuts add on, comes with fudge, whipped cream, cherry, and ice cream of choice of course. They have Handle Hurricanes which are like their version of McDonald’s McFlurries (blended ice cream...
Read moreHandel's Homemade Ice Cream is a true gem that recently opened its doors in our town, and it has quickly become a beloved destination for families with kids in the neighborhood. As a parent, I can attest to its magnetic appeal and the joy it brings to children. My own kids are absolutely crazy about their shakes, and it's a delight to see their faces light up with each visit.
What I personally appreciate about Handel's is the impressive range of flavors they offer. It's a haven for flavor explorers like myself, as there's always something new and exciting to try. From classic favorites to inventive creations, their ice cream selection never fails to impress. In particular, I find the ice creams with pieces of tart or cheesecake to be absolutely divine. The combination of creamy ice cream with those delectable additions creates a perfect harmony of flavors.
The quality of the ice cream at Handel's is outstanding. It's evident that they take great care in crafting their frozen treats. The ice cream is rich, smooth, and bursting with flavor. Whether you prefer a traditional flavor or a more adventurous choice, you can expect exceptional taste and texture in...
Read moreThere is no denying that they make good ice cream, innovating flavors with a heavy emphasis on adding things into the mix rather than figuring out how to create the flavor achieved in the end. There's nothing wrong with this if one prefers to chew what traditionally flows down the palette. I would be remiss if I didn't mention that this high end establishment follows the trend of blowing through what most would have perceived as price ceilings. There was a time when Disney was too embarassed to charge $100 entry for the parks, but blew through that limit with gusto. Similarly, just a few years ago, higher end bars priced their better drinks at $9.99, afraid to have patron ask why they are paying 10 bucks for a drink... until they shattered that barrier. Handel's has eclipsed any prior ice cream joint (they have no indoor areas or seating to speak of) by speeding through the previous restraints and $5 per person is the minimum to expect. Ok, but when families have kids with unrefined tastes, spending $20 for an add-on activity that cost $10 only a couple of years ago may not sit...
