Great food, terrible service. They have messed our orders up numerous times in the past; no big deal. Everybody makes mistakes and we have always given them another chance.
That being said, tonight was the final straw for the chances that we give them. First, I tried calling and could hardly get through. The phone just kept ringing busy for about 10 minutes. Again, they’re busy.. That is fine. When I finally got through, I got put on hold for 3 minutes. When they picked back up, my first question was, “how long of a wait for a carry-out order?” The kid working the phone told me 30-35 minutes. We showed up at the 30 minute mark and it wasn’t ready yet. Keep in mind, they had a room full of people and in the 5-10 minutes I stood there when I first got there, the kid working the counter hadn’t asked a single person if they had been helped. In the first 15 minutes of waiting, I had seen three other people walk out the door without being helped.
As I sat waiting for my food, I got to talking to another guy that was there waiting and he said he had already been waiting an hour. He also said he would have walked out the door had the kid told him it would be an hour, but he had already paid. Once he told me how long he had been waiting, I had to ask how much longer until my food would be done (had already been an hour since I put my order in). This time I was talking to one of the guys that came out from the kitchen and he told me “10 more minutes.” I asked if it had even been started yet and he said “once they start cooking it, it goes quick.” I told him not to worry about it and just cancel my order. He then said “I’m sorry, we have a lot of orders.” I explained that “it is fine yoi have a lot of orders, but don’t tell people a half hour if it’s going to be an hour and half. That is a big difference and you have a room full of people that have been waiting a lot longer than you told them.” All he could say was “sorry.”
Lastly, if the manager or owner are reading this, I have a couple pieces of advice.. First, don’t tell your customers something if you can’t hold up your end of the deal. Second, figure out a phone system that can handle more calls so your customers don’t get a busy tone when they call. Third, maybe hold off on the Menufy app until you can handle the phone calls and the customers that actually walk into the store. The kid working the counter was worried more about looking at the tablet on the wall than he was handling the phone calls and working with the room full of customers that were in the restaurant. Last but not least, get the poor kid at the counter some help or find someone that can handle the work load.
You may have lost a good number of customers tonight based on the little bit that I got to see while I was there.. Four customers walked out the door and a good handful that were waiting on deliveries called upset in the 45 minutes that I was standing in your store. Read more1st off I'd like to say I haven't been to China star in a while and noticed that the portions have gone down in size and the prices have gone up I can see if they kept their prices the same and cut down their portions. but not raise prices and cut the portions down. They're now using these small bowls compared to a regular styrofoam to go containers. Now I got the sesame chicken with fried rice and chicken teriyaki sticks and the meal came with 2 cream cheese rangoons, it was was over $16. They use 24oz (stamped on the bottom) flat lid containers, You can see on other peoples pictures and their reviews on the size of the to-go containers they now use. I got the regular lunch size. Now I know inflation understandable but to cut the portions and to raise the price that is unacceptable. They have decent food nothing that you'd go out your way for in my opinion. It's just something when you want to eat junk food to go and grab once in a while. Inside their lobby area by their register definitely could use a update/remodel and deep cleaning (possible the cooking area aswell) in my opinion again. But all in all the lady who assisted me was friendly no issues...

Ordered again tonight. Ordered two orders of chicken broccoli hold the carrots add snow peas and make spicy. All shows clearly on the receipt what I requested. Only part of order they got right was the no carrots. Didn’t add the snow peas which I paid for. Didn’t make spicy. Forgot chopsticks again. Called to complain. Got told they could make me my order the right way and bring it out on their “next run”. I agreed, but they asked me to not eat what they had delivered so they could have it back.
