We went to this location Friday the 6th. Received the worst customer service. Greeted by a lack luster female voice in drive thru. I asked specifically “two bacon club chalupas please” she repeated it back to me and I said yes. That was all she said. We sat there waiting for her to tell us total. We sat there maybe about 1 1/2 minutes and she never said anything else. I pulled forwards and we paid for our food and got the sealed bag. The lady, by the name of Jalen C cashed us out and said “we are grabbing your drink.” We both said “we didn’t order a drink?” She said “oh ok” and then closed the window on us. So, confused we read the receipt and pulled forwards to check the bag and it was wrong. So we drove through drive thru again. The same bored woman’s voice greeted us. I said “hello, we just came through here. got the wrong order. We ordered two bacon club chalupas. We can give you the bag of food back we just want two chalupas please.” Working in fast food myself in the past I understand being kind is the best option. I was polite as I could be. The lack of reciprocation of kindness was what really got my goat. Terrible training. Terrible customer service and hospitality. She acted confused and said “We don’t have an order for two bacon club chalupas.” Her manager, a young male, was even worse. He kept cutting me off mid sentence or even if I opened my mouth to explain what happened... and said 4 people didn’t hear the order. No apologies were ever made. If 4 people didn’t hear the order I just made and no one double checked the order before putting it in maybe they all need to be retrained. Especially that rude DEMEANING manager. By the looks of the other reviews of this specific Taco Bell I’m surprised corporate keeps these untrained, messy, demeaning people up and running. Even once they could’ve apologized and said “sorry for the mix up let’s fix that” instead of cutting me off when all I’ve been was as polite as I’ve been trained to be in my customer service...
Read moreThe Final Bell Tolls for Taco Bell on the South Side of La Crosse…
I've been a loyal patron of the South Side La Crosse Taco Bell for years, but let's just say I've had a tumultuous relationship with this place. I swore off this location 20 years ago when the food and service were at their nadir. Fast forward to about 8 years ago, the place seemed to have turned a new leaf with fresh management, decent food, and good service. But alas, my recent visits have confirmed that the good times were fleeting.
My most recent venture into this establishment was nothing short of a comedy of errors, but not the kind you laugh at. Pulling into the drive-thru, I should've taken the smoking employee on break during peak lunch hour as a harbinger of doom. After receiving my order, I checked the bag - a wise move as half my order was missing. The food that did make it to me was a sad, sloppy mess, clearly assembled by someone who might have been better suited for a different line of work.
Stepping inside didn't make things any better. I stood at the counter, ignored for over 10 minutes, while the staff, seemingly sharing one brain cell, made eye contact but didn't acknowledge my existence until I raised my voice. "Hello, I need help!" I finally bellowed, which apparently was the secret code to break their trance.
This visit was the last straw. Driving away, I declared to my family we'd never patronize this location again. It's baffling how this Taco Bell has managed to circle back to its old, problematic ways. There's a noticeable absence of any managerial oversight, leaving the staff to flounder in mediocrity.
If you're in the area and craving Taco Bell, do yourself a favor and drive to the Onalaska location or one by the college campuses. Trust me, your taste buds and patience will thank you. Here's hoping this particular Taco Bell location rings its...
Read moreUpdated: Our return visit on 3/19/23 at 2:49pm was worse than our first. Including a dangerous manhole cover in the parking lot. More photos of the disgusting restaurant attached. There wasn't a single table without visible food on it. We cleaned out own. There was a total of 6 customers in there at the time. I only saw an employee once (orders are taken using the kiosk), and we couldn't even hear our name called. We just went up to see if it was on the counter.
Rating lowered even more, accordingly. ........ When we walked into this Taco Bell location at 12:16pm on 10/23/22 there was no one at the counter. After waiting for 6 minutes with 3-4 young guys working in the back (within sight of the counter), one guy peeked up and said "You can start your order on the kiosk" and then walked away. We didn't want to use the kiosk, but now we felt obligated. The floors, tables, and chairs were some of the stickiest I've experienced. Everything looked nice, however. When our food was ready they called our name, and then left to the back again. No one asked if we needed anything else, or waited to see if we got everything. The food was delicious. There was no departing...
