Pizzeria Dolorosa - A True Slice of Heaven! If you’re searching for authentic, mouthwatering pizza, look no further than Pizzeria Dolorosa. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the outstanding food. The menu is a well-curated mix of classic Italian flavors and creative, modern twists. Their wood-fired pizzas are nothing short of perfection – the crust is light and crispy with just the right amount of char, the sauce is fresh and vibrant, and the toppings are always high-quality and generously portioned. The standout for me was the Margherita – simple, yet flawlessly executed. The fresh mozzarella, basil, and olive oil melted together in every bite. For those looking for something a little more adventurous, their specialty pizzas, like the Truffle Mushroom or the Spicy Diavola, are a must-try. The service was impeccable – friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The staff clearly take pride in delivering a memorable dining experience. Pizzeria Dolorosa also boasts a great selection of wine and craft beers, which pair beautifully with the meal. And don’t skip dessert – the tiramisu is a dream! Overall, Pizzeria Dolorosa is a gem that consistently delivers on flavor, ambiance, and service. Whether you’re dining in with family, grabbing a casual slice with friends, or ordering for a cozy night at home, this place will exceed your expectations. Highly recommended!

We had several pizza’s and they were so delicious. From the moment we walked into this pizzeria our senses were intoxicated by the incredible smell of pizza. We all knew it was going to be a meal to remember, and it was!! We were greeted by one of the owners I am guessing and he was simply awesome and helped us pick from the fabulous menu with lots of options not found in most pizza places for sure. Everything was fresh, had lots of flavor and the pies were cooked to perfection. We had the, Mushroom Pie with sautéed onions and the, Vodka Pie and they were both mouthwatering good. And the side of homemade buttermilk ranch dressing was so yummy I could have drank it, lol. If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out. If you’re on the fence, go and try a big slice of pie since they have that on the menu too. I wasn’t paid to write this review nor do I know them, I just love to share exceptional food made by great people.

Pizzeria Dolorosa did NOT disappoint, very opposite to that - it was superbly superb. I got a white garlic sauce topped with mushrooms and caramelized onion pizza and spent each bite guessing the ingredients. Seemed like a hint of blue cheese. Whatever it was - wow. Kristof raved about his red sauce meat pizza that also had caramelized onion. Both of us raved about the crust, crispy with a bit of crunch from cornmeal - very East Coast (my original home) - then a thin soft tasty crust near spicy, savoury toppings. They gave us a hot pepper powder that was hard to figure out as well. A bit smoky, a bit chipotle, not hot, but spicy nice. I loaded my takeaways with it. I had a Paul Busey cocktail with grapefruit juice that also had something spicy and salty. We like when our taste buds dance!

Outstanding! Can pizza be elevated without being pretentious? Absolutely! The sourdough crust is phenomenal - ideal thickness, great flavor, and incredible chew. The toppings were obviously of the best quality. I had a chance to chat with co-owner/chef Spencer and asked him how they did it. He said they'd experimented with different flours until they got it just right. He also told us that they source many key ingredients from Italy (I think he said one of the olive oils comes from Spain?), and they use only Wisconsin cheeses.

This was our first visit, but we were with our granddaughter who is a frequent patron with her parents. She couldn't remember what she usually ordered... but Spencer did ♥

You can order by the slice or get a whole pizza. The price is very reasonable - especially considering the quality of the ingredients. Ordering takes place at the counter and if you're dining in, you select your table and the staff will bring the food out to you.

Just a great experience with outstanding food and a friendly, welcoming, laid-back vibe. This is a must try for pizza lovers and serious...

Best tomato pie I’ve ever had! We got the full experience talking with the owner about the science of flour milling, dough fermentation, and the special methods to cook a tomato pie. This stuff is full artisan, and Spencer does not settle for sub par ingredients. It really shows in the pizza. The crust was cooked perfectly to support the toppings. The effort to hand mill the tomatoes really shined through in the flavor and texture. They chose a red pepper with the perfect balance of spices for the right amount of heat. Most of the time mushrooms and onions are just thrown on to check a box, but Dolorosa goes the extra mile to caramelize the onions and roast the mushrooms before they are qualified to become ingredients for this special pie. Even the olive oil goes under scrutiny to become an ingredient as Spencer explained it must have the perfect balance of fruity and peppery notes. I didn’t even know that about oils! For the most authentic and well crafted pizza, this place is...
