Sloopy's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in La Crosse

Traveling home to Minneapolis from Milwaukee I was CRAVING some delicious wings and pizza, and after scouring a few hundred mile radius along I90/I94 on the route home, after looking at the Sloopy online menu I had to make the short detour. And I was not disappointed! 🙏 I sat at bar and tried one of their taps on hand, a Dogfish Hazy IPA, while ordering the breaded parmesan wings (with an extra side of sauce) plus a large of their house deluxe pizza to go. The wings were MASSIVE and the extra breading added some additional volume. The deluxe took about 30 min in the car before I started snacking on the loaded pizza on a perfect cracker crust, but only made it a few squares after being loaded up on the wings 😆 The staff was super friendly and very helpful with questions, and even having an extra beer, polishing the wings, and grabbing my pizza, I was back on the road in 30 min time. I stumbled upon Sloopy's Bar and Grill recently and was thoroughly impressed! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly smiles. The staff were incredibly attentive, making sure my drink was never empty and my food arrived promptly. And speaking of food, the menu offers a fantastic variety of classic grill fare, all prepared with a delicious homemade touch. Classic "dive bar on the outside super nice on the inside" switcheroo. My friend and I wanted to get some food to go to take to a brewery that didn't serve food, so we came here. The places that look questionable on the outside always have the best food, and this is no exception. Our bartender was great. We shared the honey garlic chicken wrap (which was definitely big enough for two people), and it was seriously awesome. So were the tator tots - they tasted like potato oles from Taco Johns.
