Taco Bell — Restaurant in La Crosse

The worst service I have ever received at any restaurant/company for that matter. I have multiple terrible experiences here with the rudest staff imaginable. First experience, I order through DoorDash for takeout. I walk into the lobby and spot my food sitting on a table, clearly in view. I go up to the counter and show the moody teenage employee my order details. She tells me that I have to go through the drive through in order to pick up my food. I ask why other people are picking up food at the counter and why I cannot. She tells me that these people are DoorDash delivery drivers. I ask how come delivery drivers get to pick up their food and I do not? She doesn't give me a reason and kicks us out of the lobby, with my food on the table getting cold. This is in the middle of winter, by the way. I walk through the drive through, on foot in the cold to the order menu. She tells me to go to the first window. I wait behind other cars for probably 5-10 minutes in 10 degree weather. I get to the window for this rude employee to tell me that I NEED to be in a car for "safety reasons", otherwise she can't give me my food. I SEE THE FOOD ON THE COUNTER THAT I ALREADY PAID FOR. WHY DIDN'T SHE TELL ME THIS WHILE I WAS AT THE MENU?? There is a camera at the drive through, and she got some pleasure from making me sit out in the cold?? It is too far into the order for me to get a refund, and I am getting my food no matter what. So, I walk half a mile in the Wisconsin winter to my car. Pull up to the drive through in my car, the employee sneers at me and begrudgingly gives me my now-cold food. I did not eat at any Taco Bell for a year after this. After a year passes, I decide to give them another chance. My girlfriend and I order food late at night because we got the late night munchies. DoorDash is still accepting takeout orders at this place. We place the order, get in our car when it is done, and drive to the drive thru. When we get there, we wait at the speaker for 10+ minutes for an answer. Nothing. We move forward to the window and a fed-up rude employee comes to the window and we explain to him (as politely as I could muster) we were waiting at the speaker forever to pick up our DoorDash. He interrupts me several times, telling me that he closed the DoorDash (he didn't), told me to stop giving him attitude (I wasn't), and that he is not giving us the food WE ALREADY PAID FOR. Guess what? Too late to get a refund from DoorDash. So we drive away, $30 down the drain, with DoorDash and this horrid establishment refusing to give us a refund. And to top it all off, a car spontaneously combusted into a giant fireball in the drive through one time, and post-Oktoberfest there was a mountain of garbage in the parking lot. This is a taco bell saten would be proud of. This review has been a long time coming and I feel compelled to share this in case anyone has the ill conceived thought of visiting this establishment. Don't visit this taco bell if you like having basic customer service, correct orders, timly orders, or being able too even order at all. On separate occasions they have been out of beef, chicken, taco shells, hot sauce, cheese, limited time items. Although they never seem to run out of rubbery steak and beans (thank the lord). On the off occasion I try to treat my heart to a breakfast there I have twice been told they didn't have eggs and last time at 7:30 a.m (they open at 7 i might add) I was informed they wouldn't be ready to serve food till around 8. I should mention also that the "resturaunt" is drive thru only a 1/3 of the time due to lack of staffing. You might wonder, "why would he continue to go there if it's so bad". Well I have consumer amnesia, I love taco bell and it is a block away. A deadly trifecta. My qualms arnt even necessarily with the workers, it lies mainly with the managment which is so inept that there would be better customer satisfaction and profit margin if they let the customers run the shop. The owner of this grotto must be either purposfully negligent, or utterly ignorant. I've never come across such an embarrassment of a business. I recommend the people of lacrosse and any drifter coming through that if they don't want to spend money only to curse a burrito shop, then not to waste their time at this disaster and try taco johns...

Food was fine, but the service at this location sucks. Twice I’ve come to this location, last time there was some technical problem and I didn’t get food at all, despite having prepaid on the app. Corporate reimbursed that one. This time, I get to the drive through, again having pre ordered, and the car in front of me goes to back out, she got told at the speaker it was a 25 minute wait to even get an order in. I preordered, so instead of waiting in a drive through line that isn’t moving, I decide to go inside and get my food. Nope, I’m told that they can’t give me my order inside, I have to wait in an unmoving drive through line. Never mind while I was inside, no one seemed to be moving with any urgency. I worked in restaurants for years, if it’s busy, no one is moving at a casual pace, and certainly no one’s job is just watching the others make food slowly. I get told at the speaker that they’re training new people. I’m pretty sure restaurants have new people all the time, I’ve never had that given as an excuse for inadequacy before. Had I not pre paid, I would have just left. I have no issues at any other location, but the onalaska one was closed for some work being done. I won’t return to this location, twice in a row of just atrocious service. If you want Taco Bell, any other location is better, do yourself a favor and drive a little out of your way. Save...
