Horrible experience all three times I went. The work out rooms are nice. But by the looks of all the reviews of this y the management isnāt taking charge and the kids they hire donāt give two craps about the guests that come in the utilize the y. There were three staff one was eating something garlicy and smelly while another talked to her about her day and the guy kept folding towels and talking to the two girls. They all saw us walk in too. They continued to ignore us. This is a reacurring issue! Reviews Iāve read and have taken screenshots of prove that Iām not the only one. Also, the communication (again, between management and the regular workers is extremely horrible)! Each worker is extremely unaware of their surroundings. So much so that Iāve paid $30 this month for a family day pass because I bring my daughter in and Iāve been kind about the being COMPLETELY IGNORED BY THE STAFF FOR OVER 10 minutes... that I signed up for a low income membership (which by my current pay would only cost me at most $15 a month). They told me the second time that I came in that since Iām doing a membership the next time I came in the amounts I paid would go to the membership... then they let me in the third time and I told them about my membership. They let me in. They saw me walk in with my child. While I stood at the counter even talking to my child as I talked to them I had my kid with!!! How can they not see that I had my kid with? Nobody was on the same page and each person had an idea of what was supposed to be done but nobody knew how to do their job. Iāve told each person I wish they could improve their communication. Reviews Iāve read prove that over 8 months theyāve been told to improve their communications between everyone BUT it shows they refuse to listen to customer reviews and actually do something about it. Even with the menās locker room reviews even a month after the first bad review about it they didnāt improve it at all and the second bad review was posted about the menās locker room. Maybe this y should hold an all staff meeting BEFORE new computer programs and new policies go into action. That would help with communication and guest satisfaction. Also please pay attention to the guest. Any job Iāve had with customer services shows that guests come first not your story about what you had for breakfast! I truly hope to see some improvement. However, the way that I see the other reviews and month later there is still no change and the many many complaints about management and regular staff not communicating I highly doubt it will improve since the past...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a member of the Dahl Family YMCA for a while now and Iām genuinely impressed with the facilities and services they offer. The highlight for me has always been the pool. Itās well-maintained and provides a great environment for both serious swimmers and those looking for a relaxing dip.
I did have an isolated negative incident in the pool area, but I must commend the management for their swift and effective resolution. Itās reassuring to see a team that values member experience so highly.
The gym area has seen significant improvements lately. The quality of machines is top-notch, contributing to a productive workout every time I visit. Additionally, the 24/7 accessibility is an amazing feature, accommodating all schedules and lifestyles.
There are minor issues, such as the occasional misidentification upon entry, but these are minor and donāt detract from the overall positive experience.
However, my one grievance is with the cleanliness of the basketball court. It tends to be too dusty, posing a slipping hazard that could potentially lead to injuries. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the court would greatly enhance safety and enjoyment for everyone who uses it.
Overall, the Dahl Family YMCA is a fantastic facility that I would definitely recommend. Itās a place where you can feel part of a community while enjoying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: I made a complaint to the front desk during lessons, but I also contacted the aquatics director directly the next day. Apparently, she saw this post and was pretty upset by the pictures. She said the policy is that the lifeguard needs to be in the chair, so even being on the side and watching isn't good enough. They had a staff meeting this week, so she said she was going to bring it up then, too.
My dad took our other two to lessons on Wed and Thurs and said the lifeguard was in the chair as well. Hopefully, this problem is fixed!
I love the YMCA and the services it provides. But I was blown away at swimming lessons when the lifeguard wasn't even pretending to watch the pool. She was turned completely around chatting with her friend in the hot tub. This negligence is going to lead to a tragic accident. I made a complaint and nothing changed. When I asked other local moms about it, they also shared photos and experiences saying that this has been going on a long while. I wish there was another place to take my kids for swim lessons...
