IHOP — Restaurant in La Habra

One of the best IHOP locations in all of SoCal. At first, this place doesn't seem very special, and seems very "run of the mill" for an IHOP location. But once you step inside, peruse the menu, and actually order the food, you may very well be pleasantly surprised, like I have been, especially if you came in with low expectations from dealing with lousy food & service from chains like Denny's. Here's a Pro-Tip regarding IHOP; If you don't like pancakes, IHOP is fantastic for it's Steaks, Burgers, and classic American cuisine, all without ANY pancakes. But if you do like pancakes, IHOP is The Place for you. The menu items are simple, robust, and tasty, with a penchant for quality, at the cost of the menu options being rather spartan and basic. No Michelin Star quality food here, but it doesn't have to be. Also, the service is great. They really work for their tips here, and you better not short-change them when they provide the excellent service. Even though we are in a not recession inflationary crisis, the pricing is not bad, all things considered. You can't go wrong here; if you want American food and big breakfast meals, it's a toss-up between Coco's or here, or a mom and pop diner, so long as you aren't going to the soulless husk of a restaurant chain...

There wasn’t many places to choose from for a mid morning meal besides fast food on a Saturday around 10:00 am. We decided on breakfast instead of a lunch meal and stopped at this location. It was a bit busy but we waited only a few minutes as we asked for the patio area. It was a nice change to be in the outside area that was clean and had a morning breeze. The patio area also had shade covering as well as what looked like heaters. We ordered egg plates that came with hash browns and sausages. We each chose something different when it came to the options and I got toast with the other person getting a pancake, sausage, and ham. Our server was very nice and even had some jokes. He was attentive and made sure we were satisfied with our meals. The menus are very colorful with vibrant pictures...

WOW.. what a disappointment from a place you think is the same anywhere you go. Not the case. Went to have breakfast on a Saturday morning, and the waiter was rude all the way around. I am a paying customer and who cares what I order or how much... the waiter seemed compelled to express himself about my order and then question if I was sure. The only thing I am sure about is not coming back to this place or at least his section. To add to it he decides he deserves a 18% tip. How about NO. rudeness gets less than 18 for sure, wrong order less again, cold food, getting close to only 5% spilling water because you seemed bothered I asked for more, you get 0. I will go back but will make sure I do not sit in his area ever again . Btw...only two male servers, this one is high...
