Tahini House Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in La Habra

Who in their right mind voted this place so highly? I was starving today and stopped by since I was in the area and didn’t want to eat fast food. Oh boy, was I in for a disappointment.

I ordered the lunch special, the shawarma chicken plate. First of all, the rice wasn’t authentic Mediterranean rice. It had a strange aftertaste. The chicken was mediocre. Did they even bother to add a salad? It was practically nonexistent.

To make matters worse, the pita bread was hard. I told the girl at the front, and she looked annoyed. She said if I exposed it to air, it would get hard. Well, it doesn’t even have any fluff as a pita bread should!

The girl working the front was completely distracted, going back and forth with people sitting across from me. I asked for a garlic sauce, and they gave me the smallest container. They told me it would cost $.75 for another one! I was outraged. They’re clearly trying to rip people off here. The customer service is terrible.

Finally, the girl asked me if I wanted her to reheat the pita bread. Wow, just wow.

I hope they close down. There was a guy standing at the counter, and when I pointed out that the pita bread was hard, he just shrugged and walked off. Terrible people. I’ll never be back.

Update 5/8/25:

This restaurant has absolutely no customer service. Why would you respond with such negativity and lie about giving me a new pita bread? And no, they didn’t replace my pita bread! The woman at the front reheated the same one I was eating and told me not to expose it to air. Stop deceiving your customers! This service...

Second time visiting, first time posting a review!

Honestly, totally worth it! I came here in February visiting my girlfriend (I'm from Scotland), and I was out strolling the neighbourhood and popped in! The first time I went I got the chicken shawarma. The chicken was grilled and seasoned to perfection, vegetables all fresh, hummus was great! Big portions too!

The second time I visited, I mentioned I had been here in February and the guy at the counter recognised me! This time I went for the beef shawarma. My pictures don't do the meal justice, it was incredible quality! From the beef to the hummus, from the onions to the rice, all the flavours complimented each other perfectly!

Got a piece of baklava for a sweet treat afterwards. I should have got a second piece, need I say more about how good it was?

10/10 food, 10/10 service, I just need to take my other half along to this place and let...

Fresh and delicious. We got a family meal and it was a ton of food. Well worth the price. Fed 3 adults and 2 kids with plenty of leftovers. We got chicken kebab and gyro and both were excellent. The rice was great, fattouch salad was tasty and fresh. Their sauces and dips were also amazing! Garlic sauce was one of the best I've had. Try the hot sauce!

I like that the pita is a thinner variety. I don't feel guilty about eating more than one piece - haha

Very kind guy at the counter who is assume is the owner. He gave me some complimentary baklava to try!
