I usually love Taco Bell, but I don't have the opportunity to eat there as often as I would like. My wife likes it, but she is part of the 98% of the population that suffers from adverse digestive effects, shortly after eating it. I am not. So when my wife, who was suddenly having a sugar drop as we left Walmart, asked me if I wanted to go to Taco Bell, I jumped at it. We went for dine-in, since my driver's side window does not go down.
Once inside, my wife went to the restroom and I was left standing at the counter, waiting to have my order taken. A staff member approached me and informed me that I had to use the computer behind me to make my order. I said "No. I don't want to. I don't like that thing." He then told me that they were not allowed to take orders at the counter. I asked if those computers worked, to which he answered, "Yes." At that time a manager stepped around the corner and they spoke Spanish to each other, I assume discussing that I didn't want to use the kiosks, or whatever they're called. The manager then told me she would help me make my order on the kiosk. She couldn't hear me growl, but my facial expression should have been enough to show I wasn't happy. Anyway, yes, we went through the order, I paid for it, the food came out fine. I didn't get a receipt.
The fact that the oder was fine and food was good, as expected, has nothing to do with it! The problem is, there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! I spent many years in the customer service industry, and this new plan of "Self Service" is lazy and abhorrent! There are signs posted all over the store that they're hiring, yet there were at least 6 other staff members in the store. I already had seen that 2 of them weren't doing anything. Just as easily the manager or the original staff member could have stepped up to the counter and seen my order, but instead the manager went to the kiosk with me and did it there. Stupid and lazy. This is a major disappointment. If having enough staff to take orders is a problem, then maybe they should pay better and treat their employees better so that they want to actually work there. Telling them, they are not allowed to are a customer's order, because they're trying to force this "Self Service" thing is just plain lazy and unprofessional. Get it together people. This is...
Read more2024: My biggest complaint about big name business these days is the lack of customer service. Here, I have to order on the computer myself. No more talking to a person and have someone working for me. Why do I have to do the work? Paying cash, I have to go talk to someone at the counter anyway. Every table was dirty. I had to clean my own table. They're not even busy. Again, I'm doing the work. When my roder was ready, the guy behind the counter, who called himself the manager (difficult to understand his English), set a tray down, called out my name, and walked off. Zero customer service.
Additionally, in the past 2 years, they have messed up my online to go order several times. They can't even get he work they're doing right. I guess that's why they are passing off all the work to their customers.
Not coming back. This Taco Bell is the worst. Not just lack of customer service, is the opposite of customer service.
2022: Taco Bell is one of my go-to fast food places. I've been to this location several times. I've never had a reason to complain until now.
I had recently had ankle surgery and obtained a handicap tag because it's very difficult for me to walk. Both handicap spots were taken, so I parked in a non-handicap spot farther from the door and went inside.
I noticed neither vehicle appeared to be authorized to park in a handicap spot.
One vehicle was sitting there with the engine running and both front seats occupied. Eventually, the passenger door opened. A person in a Taco Bell uniform got out and went inside. The vehicle left.
The other vehicle was also running with only a driver. Eventually, a person wearing a Taco Bell uniform exited a vehicle from across the parking lot, walked to the vehicle in the handicap spot, and got in. That vehicle drove away.
So it seems the handicap spots at this Taco Bell location are reserved for the emoyees' personal use out of convenience.
Everything else is...
Read moreI stopped to this Taco bell today in the afternoon 2:30PM approximately on my way back to Houston. One of my items was missing. I decided to call the restaurant to speak to the manager, not to complain about my missing items. I understand things happen, plus it was an item that I wanted to try, no big deal. So I was just looking for a refund of my missing item. The manager came on the line already with a very nasty attitude. No greeting or nothing, a plain "How can I help you?". I explained to him that I had an item missing and I just would like a refund on the item. He immediately said that I had to come back to the restaurant, that he could only give me the item. Never at any moment did he apologize for the missing item or anything. By the looks of the comments, the manager in this location is use to talking to patrons this way and the worse part about it, he is getting away with it. I know Taco Bell cares about their customer, but this manager does not deserve to be managing one of the largest fast food chains. Or he needs a good training on how to talk to patrons. AVOID THIS RESTAUNRANT IS POSSIBLE AND READ THE...
