Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in La Plata

My mom and I visited this Dairy Queen on the evening of 6/30 at about 8:30pm and went through the drive-thru. We ordered a small mint chocolate chip shake and a mini Turtle Blizzard. We saw the girl at the drive through window hand the car in front of us a mini blizzard and then about a minute later tried to hand him a small mint shake. The guy never took the shake and after some words with her, he then handed her back the mini blizzard cup that she had previously given him. I knew that she had given him the wrong order, OUR order. She then handed him a different mini blizzard cup and a bag of food.

When we got to the window, the girl tried to hand me the melting blizzard that had been given to the previous customer, and I told her that I knew she had given it to the other customer by mistake and that I was not going to accept it. She then looked at me with an attitude and asked me if I wanted it to be remade and I told her of course and that it was absolutely crazy that she would try to give me food that she had given someone else.

It is absolutely disgusting that that girl would ever think that it's acceptable to give somebody food that had been mistakenly given to another customer and in that other customer's possession for several minutes. I understand that mistakes happen. However, in food service, employees should know better than to take back food that has been given mistakenly or if they do, it's thrown away immediately, not given to...

I occasionally stop by Dairy Queen, and today I decided to dine in at the LaPlata location — something I haven’t done in nearly a year, as I usually stick to the drive-thru. The cashier was very friendly and welcoming, which was a highlight of the visit. However, the cleanliness of the restaurant left a lot to be desired.

The men’s restroom was in poor condition, and the overall restaurant had an unpleasant odor. The floors were noticeably dirty, and several tables looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in a while. Additionally, the self-serve ice machine was out of ice, so I had to ask the cashier for some from the kitchen.

On a positive note, the food was hot and fresh, which is why I’m giving this location a 3 out of 5. I’d still recommend using the drive-thru — I’ve never had a bad experience there — but until the interior is cleaned and better maintained, I’d...

I walked in and bought a shake and as I’m waiting this white girl (employee) comes out of nowhere with attitude asking on a rude tone if I was waiting for something which I replied to her “my shake”. As I was there also saw how the same worker talked very rudely to an elderly lady once she was over with the lady she went to the back to do my shake and right before putting it on the counter I saw how she ducked her head behind the counter and another worker who was building the ice creams (a girl looking boy) looked over and smiled as she had her head down on my shake.
