What can I say about this place, nothing less than phenomenal!!! Let's start from the beginning, the place shows a bit of casual dining experience with some touches of Mexican influences, not too much nor too little. Seating for 2 adults and 3 kids under 10 seems a little tight for the booth which is where we were seated. It was very clean and also the ambiance was laid back with a lot of spices filling the air. Now let's get to the appetizers, they come out with a lovely glass bottle of cold water and two glasses for the adults. The chips and salsa that came out were completely out of this world! Oh the simple taste of fresh salsa was so mesmerizing and relaxing to eat. I know it sounds a little crazy, but my word it was tasty. It was too good I asked for another small bowl of the salsa, my 4 year old daughter and I tore it up! We also ordered the white queso, that of which came out on a small cast iron pan with a small garnish on top. That was also delicious, just not as good as the salsa, don't judge me. We order the kids chicken quesadillas that came with Mexican rice, our oldest ordered the Tilapia with shrimp that came with Mexican rice. I ordered the Salsita Enchiladas, my wife ordered the Birria Quesadilla. She also ordered the Sex on the Beach and another beverage that had hibiscus and liquor in it. Ok, let's talk about the taste of the dishes since I just told you about what was ordered. The kids food looked very appealing and they loved it, every bit of it. the oldest one's food came out smelling wonderful. The tilapia was cooked perfectly with a light brown/golden crust to it, the shrimp was grilled to a nice texture. Yo know not too hard not too soft. He loved every bite of that as well. I had a small bite of his fish and let me tell you that it was seasoned very well. The wife's meal looked like the picture and tasted even better than it looked. Her vegetables came out very fresh looking, not the kind that looks pre packaged. The quesadillas tasted astoundingly home cooked, you know that taste of machined foods vs home cooked meals? The cheese tasted of premium quality and so dod the carne asada that was inside. You can usually tell the cheese by how smooth it is, the grittier the cheese then cheaper it is, remember that. Then my meal was 3 ways of deliciousness. Each enchilada had a different meat inside. One was chicken, another steak and the last one was carnitas. The black beans that came with my meal tasted so freak and so damn flavorful, I mainly ate the refried beans because they were so damn good! The whole meal was nothing short of amazing, this is in my rotation now. Oh and the service was one the best I've...
Read moreThis place honestly tries so hard to be something it’s not. It looks fancy inside, nice patio furniture outside, down to the menus. But what you get is overpriced Latino food that lacks in flavor and the worst margaritas I’ve ever had. No exaggeration. I’ve worked and been to so many tex/mex/Latino restaurants and this place has by far been the most disappointing . I ordered a salmon burger which may have been my mistake to order salmon at a latino spot but the chipotle mayo on it sounded appetizing. Wrong. Fishiest smell and taste that I literally gagged on the second bite. Couldn’t bring myself to touch it again. Barbacoa tacos that had no flavor somehow? How is that even possible? It tasted like it was smothered in bland mole. Not how barbacoa is supposed to taste. The tamarindo and spicy margaritas were so sweet that I sent it back and tried a skinny marg in replacement that literally just tasted like I was drinking sprite! How is that skinny? It honestly blows my mind. My husband said his chicken tasted like Goya adobo which isn’t bad because he liked it it’s just funny if that’s what they would be using. The server was nice enough although he never came to ask how the food was so we just waited for him to stop socializing enough with his coworkers to ask for the check. If you want real Hispanic food and tasty margs don’t go here. Unless you want to be let down like we were. Terrible. I will not even bother to give them...
Read moreOk, so this is the problem. My so. Invited me to this restaurant for a quick pick eat in. The service was top billing, the atmosphere the same. The food was very good for being there for the first time. And we both left too satisfied. I get home and I am still bragging about the meal I had eaten. Maybe fifteen minutes later, I get a review and give them all the respectany patron should give. PROBLEM!!!! I parked in front of IL GUSTO and I dined at SALSITAS GRILL!! Now, I have no ill will toward this IL Gusto restaurant. But the I do believe the foot should fit the bill. Now let's get back to SALSITAS GRILL. The second visit was slightly different. This time there were patrons being served but we didn't get in the door ten seconds before being seated. And as I had to take a pure to write you this post cones the most tasty quesidillas. I have to go. This food is to good to let get cold. Thanks SALSITAS for making part two more inviting than the first. Looking forward...
