Review of Charlie’s Cheesesteak & Wings

I recently had the chance to visit Charlie’s Cheesesteak & Wings at their new location on 50 Drury Dr. in La Plata, Maryland, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The buzz around this place is palpable, and it's easy to see why it’s already a popular spot. The staff were friendly and eager to help, which made the atmosphere welcoming.

Since they just opened, it's understandable that they are still in the training phase. There was a bit of a wait for our orders, and I appreciate the challenges that come with launching a new restaurant location. I do think it would be beneficial for management to designate a staff member to keep the entrance and windows clean, as well as create a specific area for to-go orders. At times, it felt overwhelming with to-go customers and delivery drivers from Uber Eats, DoorDash, Grubhub, and Instacart crowding around while we were dining.

That said, the management was attentive and addressed our concerns promptly, which was reassuring. The food quality was on point! I tried both the beef and chicken cheesesteaks, and they were delicious. The fries, seasoned with Old Bay and a splash of malted vinegar, were a perfect complement.

I’m excited to have Charlie’s in town, especially since it’s already a hit in other locations. I look forward to returning once they iron out some details. If they can improve the speed of service, my next review could very well...

This place has decent food, but they always mess up my drink. The first time I ordered online they did me the displeasure of filling up half my cup with ice. So the second time, to avoid that I ordered light ice. So what did they do? They gave me a cup of what tasted like tap water, mixed with root beer. It was suspiciously light colored as well. I suspect they mixed my soda with water. I’m attaching photos as proof. This place is gross honestly, and that tap water soda made my stomach upset. I understand that running a business is costly and sometimes cuts must be made. But it should never come at the expense of paying customers who expect good quality food. It’s a shame because I like this franchise, but the owners of this one are willing to ruin the quality to save a few bucks. So personally, I’d avoid it altogether. Absolutely amazing experience at the new Charleys Cheesesteaks & Wings in La Plata, MD! This place just opened a few weeks ago, and they are already killing it!
