IHOP in La Plata is a dependable go-to spot if you’re in the mood for a classic American-style meal served in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. On a Saturday afternoon, the wait time for a table for two was about 20 minutes, which is fairly typical for the weekend rush. Once we were seated, the overall atmosphere was comfortable, but the service left a bit to be desired. Our waiter was polite but very slow to make rounds, and it took quite a while to get refills or check in on our order. When it came time to pay, the checkout process dragged on for nearly 15 minutes, which definitely tested our patience.

That said, the food itself was delicious and came out hot and freshly prepared. I ordered the chicken and waffles, and it was worth the wait. This is the 4th time we've experienced this type of service at this location. We will not eat here again! The initial wait time to be seated was normal (10-15min). Once seated received poor customer service, as there was a long wait time to be acknowledged by the waitress. Although she smiled, she moved really slow and seem distracted the entire time. It took an awful long time to receive our meal once we ordered the food (filled up on drinks than food). It took other fellow wait staff intervening to ask if there was anything else we needed, checking on our order, refilling drinks, and even checking us out. We observed that there were plenty wait staff available and hardly no customers. We also observed the manager joking/playing around on a cell phone with the wait staff. It just seem odd to us, as the manager should have be running his operation better (checking on ALL aspects of his business from the kitchen, dinning room appearance, and most importantly his customers satisfaction)....
