Burger Taco — Restaurant in La Porte

I’ve been to Burger Taco multiple times now, and I can confidently say this place is a shining example of consistent quality and great service. Whether it’s a quick takeout order or a leisurely dine-in experience, Burger Taco delivers every single time.

The first thing that stands out is the incredible variety on the menu. Over my visits, I’ve tried several dishes, including the Reuben with waffle fries, which was a perfect harmony of flavors. The Reuben was generously packed with tender, flavorful corned beef and tangy sauerkraut, while the waffle fries were crisp and seasoned to perfection.

The burrito, another standout dish, was an explosion of taste. The portion size was impressive, easily satisfying my appetite while still leaving me excited for the next visit. The lake perch and tilapia dishes were equally delightful, with fresh, flaky fish perfectly cooked and accompanied by well-paired sides. And of course, the tacos! Each one was a handheld masterpiece, bursting with flavor and made with high-quality ingredients.

What I truly appreciate about Burger Taco is the value for money. The portions are generous, ensuring you leave full and happy without breaking the bank. It’s clear they prioritize customer satisfaction, both in the quality of the food and the friendly, attentive service. Every time I’ve visited, the staff has been welcoming and efficient, making the experience even better.

This spot has become a biweekly tradition for me, and I’ve yet to be disappointed. No matter what I order, I know I’m in for a treat. Today 12/4/24 we put in an order through Storefront by Doordash. I paid and received a confirmation text and email. When my husband went to pick up the food they told him they didn't have a ticket. We showed them both the text and the email containing a confirmation number and evidence of payment. The only thing they did was continue to tell us they didn't have the ticket... that's fine, obviously the system had an error. However, as a business, once it's clear you have a customer who placed and pre-paid for an order good business practice would be to try and find a solution. For example they could have said "We will have to put a new order in it will take such and such amount of time..." OR "We will make sure you don't get charged for this order that didn't come through..." There were so many options other than what the employee said which was "I would say I'm sorry, but we don't have the ticket..." which was dismissive, rude and completely unhelpful. We really liked the food the first time we came here, but customer service is so so important and they really failed today. See images for confirmation...

I've only gotten orders to go. They've been ready in about ten minutes each time. Only downside is you don't get cups of salsa with your order and only a single packet plastic fork and knife with a single napkin. Otherwise the food is incredibly flavorful and well made with extremely fresh ingredients. The steak is chopped skirt steak so people think it's ground beef, despite it tasting very different, if you aren't used to this maybe don't get that protein. The portions are enormous. The lunch chimichanga was over 2 pounds for roughly $9 and more than fed two people, so whoever wrote the review about small portions must have some unrealistic expectations. Chips and salsa aren't free like a TexMex place, but you wouldn't expect free French fries at an American Diner either, would you? The burrito is great as well and huge. So far the most consistently fast and reliably good authentic Mexican food in town.

Update: I tried the taco lunch with chicken Mexican style and they are incredible. I also received extra napkins and salsa without asking. Perfect...
