Birrieria Guadalajara — Restaurant in La Puente

I came in a week after they opened. Very sad atmosphere, food was ok and service felt depressing. Left disappointed on all counts. I drive by there almosta daily and no sign of improvement. After a couple of months they must have finally gotten some business saving advice. One evening the place look brighter (lights were turned on inside and oitside. I decided to give it another chance. They have daily $2 soft birria taco deal going now and ordered 2 plus a QuesaBirria. It was almost closing time but the server gave me the ok to have my meal in restaurant. The food was incredibly different, tastier, felt "fresher" than before. I ordered a consommè to "tie it all together" There is a mild and a very hot salsa that works perfectly to give it flavor as well as that spicy "kick". I thoroughly enjoyed this renewed vibe in the food as well as the atmosphere. Today my mom, our two pooches, and I stopped by Birrieria Guadalajara in La Puente after spending the whole morning at the veterinary clinic around the corner. We were tired, hungry, and needed some comfort — and this place delivered big time!

Don’t judge the book by its cover — the food, service, and vibe are amazing. The restaurant was super clean, there was plenty of parking, and even on a rainy day, they made us feel right at home. Their patio is dog-friendly, and the staff was so kind and attentive.

Now let’s talk about the food — fire! Their consomé was rich and flavorful, and the handmade tortillas were fresh and delicious. Every bite was like a hug after a long day.

Loved the place. I wasn't really craving birria but still decided to go get some. We definitely don't regret it. The place is really clean and the staff are fast and very kind. The handmade tortilla sold me! It's so rare to find places that have that nixtamal taste in them but this place is definitely it!
