Firehouse Subs Commons at La Verne — Restaurant in La Verne

Update: I will no longer be spending any more money at this location. Samantha was hired and turned this whole place around from how bad it was a few years ago. Every time I came in she was on top of her team, cared deeply about her customers, and ran a tight ship with quality as the #1 priority. Now to come in and hear SHE WAS FIRED?! Yet none of the employees seemed to have a clear understanding or a solid reason why..?! The sad part is I've come in twice in the last 2 months both times my food was bunk, once my sandwich was wrong & this last time my sandwich tasted and smelled like chemicals (it was gross & bizarre) which is when I asked where Samantha is since she wasn't there these last 2 times. My co-workers say the quality is soggy, the employees are idiots & super unprofessional, they have had their orders messed up too and don't want to order there anymore. Rancho is even worse so we're all over Firehouse subs. YOU GUYS MADE A HUGE MISTAKE LETTING THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOUR STORE GO!! Whoever that other lady was that was in there "working" as manager I assume was not only rude but definitely seemed like she was on something... Whoever owns this place should be ashamed.

Husband and I ordered a sandwich and a chopped salad with roasted chicken.

We noted at the time there were people waiting for their order, but had no idea how long hey had been there. We assumed the person taking the order was new.

While waiting a table was given a sandwich, which the patrons were touching and lifting the bread to see if it was what they ordered. One of the associates came back to the table, took the sandwich and handed it to another patron who this sandwich apparently belonged to. We were in shock. No health codes here?

Since we got our meal to go, it took 40 minutes to get our order. We drove home and when we opened the order I discovered there was no chicken in the salad. I called and as told that they had “a lot of tickets and the salad I ordered was PROBABLY a salad they sell that has no meat”. I clearly stated my order. The gentleman told me that when I come back, if I tell them what happen they “may” give me a free bag of chips to fix the problem. Husbands sandwich was not to his order either. We realize they are new, no doubt learning. However, the service at this time is very poor and the fact that we waited for 40 minutes for a meatless salad and a sandwich that was not to order and witnessed an associate take food from a table and hand to another patron is enough for us to not return. Jersey Mike’s is way way better! After paying 50 bucks this dumb girl calls your name her voice was low you could not even hear her and some other guy picked up our food and started touching it brought back up then were going to try and give it to me I made them remake it they don’t have good way to check whose picking up the order they need order numbers on there receipts because you pay first then they make your food behind a big counter where can’t see them the meat is not freshly sliced as you order your sandwich they did not offer an apology so I told them you should have I like Jersey Mike’s they make the sandwich right in front of you they slice the meat and cheese fresh and bread is baked fresh daily firehouse’s bread only taste good when they steam the bread and meat because the bread is not fresh steaming it makes it soft the meat was already sliced steaming it makes taste better The meat and bread doesn’t taste good cold that’s why they steam it The manager looked like someone off a Bar...
