Update for accuracy. Men must use men’s restrooms and women must use the women’s. Not recommended for LGBTQ+ or women. I felt extremely uncomfortable when the “owner” said I could not use the men’s bathroom because I am female. All of the other 3, single person bathrooms were locked and occupied. Once the person that spoke to me identified himself as the owner, I stepped away from the men’s restroom and waited for the women’s restroom to become available. Once available I proceeded to enter, my friend (female) did enter with me as she did not feel comfortable standing alone waiting for me. The only reason I did not immediately leave is because I am here meeting my friend’s new guy. *initially I indicated my friend’s race, but do not want to speak on her experience outside of the fact that we both felt uncomfortable with the way the situation played out. Enter at your own risk- I felt intimidated by the owner and the atmosphere created by the way he handled me needing to use the restroom urgently.
Owner approached me after I wrote this review to have a “conversion” about this review. I am absolutely open to have conversations about inclusivity. He asked me why I thought it would be ok to use a men’s restroom and showed me my review. I said I wrote that so that other LGBTQ+ people would know that this place is not friendly. The “owner” then called me a joke and I got up and immediately left.
The feedback given about my review from other patrons and the owner’s girlfriend via Facebook led me to update my above review for accuracy I will include that below. I would like to again invite the owner (I apologize I do not know your name) to have a conversation about my first time experience and how this led me to leave this negative review.
Facebook feedback from other patrons: -women have been using the men’s restrooms without issue -I made myself a target for attempting to use the men’s restroom -I was only looking for a handout since I did not close my open tab -my review was about my feelings and therefore not accurate -I seemed shady based on the fact that my friend entered the single person restroom with me
I did not take down my Facebook post but I did disable comments. I would like to use this public platform...
Read moreIt's a small joint. Fairly basic drink selection. They have Heineken bottled so I'm content. There is a menu but in my opinion they could use a better cook to solidify that menu. So far the service has been polite and prompt. Walk up to the bar if the place is busy. It's only a few steps away and Mac will be more than happy to get you a whistle wetter. Mac appears to be the weekend barkeep. Friendly crowd. Music is always flowing from the "jukebox." There are a few dartboards if you feel a little competitive. Overall. It's an alright place for a brief pit stop to maybe gather your people and start your evening but not a place I would close out. And it's a MASSIVE turn around from the former establishment! That is...
Read moreRiehles is an awesome place to go! Especially if your wanting to play darts, have a good time, or eat some tacos. Tom will most likely be in the the back whipping up some amazing quesadilla, or nachos or some amazing concoction of meatloaf. Their menu is a little limited, but I guarantee everything on it tasted fantastic. I have personally tried all the food, and aside from the meatloaf they only make once in a great while, there burgers are definitely on the top of the bar food chain in Lafayette. If your on the north end, don’t...
