I used to visit this location daily for an Americano, but Iâve recently started going to Starbucks insteadânot because of the coffee, but because of the customer service experience. Unfortunately, Iâve had two uncomfortable interactions with drive-thru staff that have influenced my decision.
In the first instance, instead of handing me the card reader as usual, the cashier loudly asked, âAre you leaving a tip today?â I typically do leave a tip, but the way it was asked felt inappropriate and made me uncomfortable.
On another visit, I was picking up a few items using my husbandâs card, and the cashier remarked, âYou donât look like a Tomâ (name changed for privacy). While I understand they may have been trying to make conversation, it came off as unprofessional.
As someone who works in management and places a high value on customer service, these encounters stood out. The employees were not rude, but the approach and tone lacked professionalism. Iâm not sure what changes have been made in staffing, but I hope customer service becomes a...
Read moreI want to love CC's, truly I do. But the quality is so inconsistent. Just last week I ordered an Espresso No. 22 and I ADORED it. It was seriously one of the tastiest beverages I've had in some time. I go today to get the same thing and it's AWFUL (and the cup wasn't even filled all the way. I hadn't taken a sip of the coffee in my picture, just mixed it up. And sure, maybe that's petty of me to be mad about, but it's a nearly $6 coffee!) The feta and spinach croissant pictured is absolutely delightful though, you have to try one of those bad boys, one of the best coffee shop confections I've ever had.
And that's the crux of my issue, sometimes CC's is BETTER THAN THE BEST OF EM but sometimes it's REALLY DISAPPOINTING. Idk about y'all, but my gourmet coffee budget isn't too big, so if I'm splurging on a rare treat, I NEED it to be consistently good. My poor little heart can't take the disappointment! That's why I typically go to different coffee shops around Lafayette that I KNOW will deliver. I love you CC's. I know you get busy. But...
Read moreIâve been coming to this specific store for close to five years now. The outdoor seating is one of the best in Lafayette for coffee shops etc. Despite the fact that it is close to a road the sound doesnât bother me too much and the raised bushes give a sense of âclosed-offnessâ from the rest of the world. The tea & coffee selections are, in my opinion, better than Starbucks. Their food selection is somewhat limited but most of what they have is decent enough. Their muffins are really darn good though. Prices are fair and about what you would expect and in about five years Iâve only encountered one or two staff members that werenât courteous or lively. Overall, a very nice place to take a break or just pop in and out for a refreshment. Bonus: Dog friendly.
TLDR; Fair prices. Good location. Great Muffins. Above average tea & coffee selections. Good customer service & staff....
