🍕 Pizza Village (Kaliste Saloom) – 4.0 / 5 stars
What I Love
Legendary cracker‑thin crust: Crisp, sturdy, and purpose‑built for one‑hand pizza eating—even beer. One‑bite reviewers rave about the “awesome crisp, fantastic undercarriage” .
Generous toppings: Local favorites like the “Landry Special” or “Dupe Special” pack in meats and seafood; one Google reviewer noted pizzas “loaded with premium toppings” .
Laid‑back, family‑friendly vibe: With a full bar, private party rooms, TVs, outdoor seating—good for families or casual hangs .
Solid value: TripAdvisor ranks it #38 of 372 in Lafayette, with a 4.3 average . Many feel the price is fair for generous portions .
What Could Be Better
Not for everyone: The ultra‑thin crust doesn’t suit lovers of thick, doughy pizza. One Redditor called it “cardboard with pizza toppings” .
Mixed service remarks: Some complain about slow check-out or uneven staff engagement—one Google review said it took nearly an hour just to get the check .
Consistency varies: Reddit users argue it’s “polarizing” in quality:
“Pizza village is incredibly polarizing. You either love it or hate it.”
Menu Highlights
Cracker‑crust pizzas (e.g., Landry, Dupe, Meat or Garden Specials)
Spaghetti, lasagna, shrimp salad, garlic bread
Full bar + beer served in frosty mugs
Overall Take
If you enjoy crispy, cracker‑style pizza with bold toppings, Pizza Village is a reliable Lafayette staple—honored in family nights, casual gatherings, and football watching. The “Landry” or “Dupe” specials are local legends for a reason. But if you're a deep‑dish fan or crave thick, chewy crust, this might not hit the spot. Service can waver, so temper expectations on busy nights.

Read moreThis place is terrible! The pizza was awful. There's no pizza in the pizza. The pizza is just a delivery vehicle for the toppings.
This in itself wouldn't be terrible if the pizza wasn't horribly overpriced. The price of the largest pizza (which really should be a medium) is about $20 without toppings. If the pizza is just there to give you toppings, why is it so expensive?
The service was terrible! When we asked for the check, it literally took them 50 minutes to give us our check. 50! That's inexcusable! No wonder there's constantly a line! All the tables are full... not because the food is good or worth it, it's because you can't leave!
The wings were good. Little overpriced, but not by much.
Edit:
To respond to the response from the owner...
If you, as the owner, are passing the buck onto the customer to ensure quality, you're proving my complaints are valid. It's not up to the customer to ensure good food or service. That is your job. If you choose not to do it, then you can't complain when people think the food or service is bad.
We got there around 6:30 last week, we were done eating by 7:20 or so, and we asked for the check at 7:30. We received the check at 8:20. Are you saying I should have made a scene, asked for the manager, and completely embarrass both the server and myself? No thank you.
As for Cracker Crust Pizza... it's not my favorite, but it's alright. I don't know what's going on with your pizza, but the "pizza" part of your pizza is clearly the weakest link of your pizza. It's possible to have good cracker crust pizza, but this aint it chief.
Are you accusing me of "being a hater"? What is this, middle school? You can be better than...
Read moreOK, I am a pizza fanatic who has had only TWO pizzas in my life that I would call 'Bad' and will never buy again. So I've tolerated hundreds of mediocre pies because I love it that much. But I may not be able to 'settle' for ho-hum pizzas any longer after eating two of PV's pies recently. I bought two giant pies (plus sides) for my family in only my 2nd time ever buying from PV and the 1st time in nearly 30 yrs. These pies (a 'PV Special' & an 'Original Everything') were, hands down, the best pizzas I've ever eaten in all my 57 years, anywhere, not exaggerating. I was blown away! A thin crispy crust, a perfectly balanced, evenly applied sauce, and a very generous load of fresh ingredients. My mouth is literally watering thinking about them and plotting my next trip! And if it is consistenly that good, I'll never get Take Out anywhere else in LFT again. The only negative outcome is that I fear I may not be able to eat store-boughts any longer! (BTW, Sides were Fried Cheese, Onion Rings and a Salad. All...
