Ninety9 Bistro & Bar — Restaurant in Lafayette

A little behind on posting the trip. First time going here. Wanted to try something different. The restaurant was clean and quiet. There were only 2 other people at the time. The bar has different options for drinks, and the menu is simple, which is nice when you have no clue what you want to eat. I went with the smoked turkey sandwich. It was huge, a lot of turkey, which made it kind of hard to eat, but it was still really good. My husband got a small millhouse salad, which was a very good size for a small order. He said the ranch dressing was very good and asked for another cup of it. I will say the decor is very odd on the inside, but I guess it makes it unique in its own way. There are 2 chandeliers only on 1 side of the restaurant. I didn't know what to expect due to the location being in River Ranch, which is more upscale than some areas...

So it helps knowing what kind of place this is before making judgements on everything else. This is a very casual bar that tries to play as a bistro. The menu is inviting and not overwhelming, and everything we tried was passable. Our favorite part was the sauce that came with the pastrami fries - bottle that stuff up! My grief was from the fries not being crispy or having much flavor. The waitress admitted the fries are all frozen - paying clientele deserve better, especially for $16. The Cuban sandwich was crispy, but lacked much flavor and was dry in the middle. The spicy fries it came with were also the frozen variety and the seasoning didn’t taste like anything. So glad I finally came here!! It is gem in the middle of River Ranch !! Was expecting a sophisticated spot but upon entering it was so down to earth with a charming NOLA vibe going on!! Service is spectacular, so nice and very accommodating. We got the Bohemian Aubergine sandwich and the Apollonia salad with pastrami!! Both were excellent and the sandwich is a great choice for ppl who love veggies !! Salad was fresh and crisp with lots of olives, yum, and the pastrami was perfectly cooked/seasoned.
