Food Review: Chaska Indian Food – A Dazzling Culinary Gem in Laguna Niguel
Tucked unassumingly into the heart of Laguna Niguel, Chaska Indian Food isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a revelation. From the moment you step through the door, the aroma of slow-simmered spices, freshly baked naan, and earthy tandoor smoke tells you: this is not your average Indian eatery. This is a love letter to bold flavors, crafted with care and steeped in authenticity.
Atmosphere & Service Chaska strikes the perfect balance between modern and traditional. The interior is vibrant yet cozy, filled with subtle nods to Indian heritage—ornate lighting, warm wood tones, and a welcoming vibe that instantly puts you at ease. The staff is outstanding: gracious, knowledgeable, and passionate. Whether you’re an Indian food connoisseur or a first-timer, they’re eager to guide you through the menu like a friend sharing their family’s favorite dishes.
The Food – A Symphony of Flavor Now, let’s talk about the real star: the food. Every dish at Chaska is a flavor bomb—layered, nuanced, and deeply satisfying. The Chicken Tikka Masala is a masterclass in balance, with smoky charred chicken bathed in a creamy, tomato-rich sauce that’s both comforting and electrifying. The Paneer Butter Masala is indulgent and silky, with tender cubes of paneer floating in a velvety, spiced gravy that you’ll be tempted to drink straight from the bowl.
Don’t miss their Goat Biryani—fragrant, fiery, and deeply aromatic. Each bite bursts with saffron, caramelized onions, and slow-cooked meat so tender it practically melts. It’s a dish that demands attention and rewards every forkful. Pair it with their garlic naan, blistered and buttery, and you’ve got an experience worth savoring.
Vegetarian? You’re in for a treat. The Baingan Bharta (smoky mashed eggplant with spices) and Chana Masala (spiced chickpeas) are stunningly good—soulful, hearty, and vibrant. And the chaat? A textural playground of sweet, tangy, spicy crunch in every bite.
A Sweet Finish Wrap things up with their Gulab Jamun or Kheer—classic Indian desserts done right. The gulab jamun is soft, syrupy perfection; the kheer is cool, creamy, and subtly spiced with cardamom and pistachios.
Final Thoughts Chaska isn’t just serving food—it’s serving experience. It’s where tradition meets innovation, where each bite tells a story, and where the passion of the kitchen comes through in every spice-dusted morsel. Whether you’re craving a fiery curry, a fragrant biryani, or just the kind of meal that leaves you grinning all the way home, Chaska delivers in spades.
Laguna Niguel, consider yourself lucky—Chaska is a culinary treasure, and it’s waiting to wow you.

Read moreI drove all the way from Fullerton, 30 miles, to have food in this restaurant and I called in before I started driving towards the restaurant and the restaurant manager doesn’t have the courtesy to tell me that the AC is not working of the restaurant. I Pre-ordered the food before coming in so that the food is ready when I reach the restaurant.
Well, after 30 minutes, when is the restaurant the food was still not ready, It took them 10 minutes to prepare the food.
I asked the manager to turn on the AC and he said that he’s going to turn it on soon, but for the entire duration in the scorching heat, the AC was not turned on.
When I asked him at the time he provided me the bill, then why he did not turn on the air conditioner, he said that the maintenance guy forgot to change the air filter of the air conditioner. I don’t know why he lied to me that he is going to turn on the air conditioner.
The prices were very high, for chicken curry. It is $18.99 for a roti, it is $3.99, after eating here, I went to Charminar restaurant, and it was thousand times better and cheaper than Chaska.
The first roti, which was given to me, was not Fresh, chicken curry was good, I asked the manager to provide me with a second roti, and heated, I left the first roti as it was not fresh, but the manager still charged me for the first roti 🫓 and I was very disappointed.
I am surprised how come this restaurant has such a high rating, the bathroom was not very clean either.
I thought that this Laguna Niguel and would be great but I was totally dissapointed.
I will suggest everyone not to go to this restaurant and save yourself a trip and money. This restaurant is a rip off and...
Read moreAs someone who loves Indian food and has tried many restaurants in Orange County, this place was a true disappointment. We were misled by the 4.9 rating and decided to give it a try.
The positives first: overall cleanliness was good.
We ordered Tandoori Chicken, Paneer Tikka, and naan. Unfortunately, the food was far below expectations:
Tandoori Chicken – below average, slightly undercooked, and made with red meat chicken thighs. Honestly, no better than 4/10.
Paneer Tikka – acceptable, about 8/10.
Rice – low quality.
Naan – mediocre with many burnt edges.
We paid $64 for two people. At over $30 per person, this is high-end pricing for an Indian restaurant, but the quality did not match the cost.
The most disappointing part was the service. The only waiter greeted us coldly, treated us as if we were a burden, and was completely inattentive. He even dropped a piece of chicken from the Tandoori plate while serving, said he would bring a replacement, but never did. Essentially, we paid for food we didn’t receive.
What really crossed the line was when we paid the bill: the waiter rudely stared at the card reader, watching which percentage tip we would choose. That is extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, and the complete opposite of the basic principles (the very ABCs of hospitality). Please train your staff not to do this!
Overall, I’m leaving this review to warn others who, like us, might be misled by the overly high rating and glowing reviews. I don’t know where those reviews come from, but if you go here, you’ll most likely be disappointed. Save your money and choose another place, you won’t regret...
