Let me start by saying that I have never in my 32 years felt the need to write a public review. But I've also never had as poor of an experience as I did here. I first came across this place by driving by and seeing the signs that it had recently opened. It really got my attention when seeing the sign that they had Vegetarian and Vegan options. My fiancé and I are vegetarians, so I was immediately super stoked to try it out. After a couple weeks of suggesting we try it, I finally called in an order. It was $40 something - I got one pizza, one order of mozzarella sticks, and one brownie for deliverey. First off, and this is not even important, the guy was totally lost trying to find my apartment, after giving very clear instructions of the location, building number, etc. So when my roommate called me from being out walking his dog, said that there was a Fresh Brothers car driving all over the complex, I went outside and waved the guy down. Since he was totally lost and late, the food was almost cold when I got it. He also dropped my brownie on the floor of the parking structure then immediately handed it to me without even an acknowledgement. But none of this is important, and none of this was even worth being upset about. I was still very excited to try it. I ate one slice first. First and second bite, I was thinking, wow this is good. I really liked the wheat crust. But by the end of the slice, I had already started to lose my appetite. Mind you I was STARVING before the pizza got there, so went ahead and ate a second slice. I finished my second slice before my fiancé came in to eat. I immediately told him I wasn't feeling right, and that it seemed like there was something wrong with the pizza. He took a bite, said it was fine, then ate 2 slices as well. He also stopped after 2 slices. My fiancé and I can usually finish a pizza, or at least come close, in one sitting. We didn't even reach the halfway point on this pizza. My stomach hurt all night long, but I took medicine within 15 minutes of eating. My fiancé, however, insisted it was fine (trying not to worry me), so he didn't take anything. A couple hours later, he was puking his brains out in the bathroom, while I lied in bed unable to sleep the rest of the night from the pain. An awful experience, and a complete waste of $50 (after a tip). If this isn't bad enough, what's next really was the cherry on top of how terrible this place is. This was a terrible experience, and no restaurant should be serving food that is making their guests sick. So the very next day, I called Fresh Brothers to let them know what happened. I imagine that most people in my situation would have raised hell, maybe even threw in a few curse words or at least a good yell. But I very calmly called in, provided my name, told them exactly what I had ordered, and told them what happened. I'm usually not the one to speak up, even when things aren't right... but this was bad. And I figured they'd want to know what we had experienced... especially with this place being newly opened. However, the gentleman I spoke to simply said "I'll have to do an investigation on this. I have your number, and the manager will be giving you a call back." No apology, and very annoyed that I had called in to begin with. Two days later, I had not received a call. So I called back, and asked when I'd be hearing from someone. It was the same gentleman. He said, "I already gave your information to management, they will call you today or tomorrow at the latest." Again, very short and somewhat rude, zero apology, and not seeming to care even a little bit that their food had made us sick. Here we are 1 MONTH later, and I still never received a call. The food making us sick was enough to raise concern. But I think my biggest concern is the response... there was none. I at least expected an apology, and a genuine concern of looking into the matter and getting it corrected. But nothing. They made my family sick, ignored my concern, and made me feel completely invaluable -...
Read moreThe place had higher ratings than most other places in the area, so I had to give it a try. I was first surprised at the price, which is WAY higher than most pizza joints. I ordered (delivery) an extra large pepperoni, an order of garlic knots, and an order of sweet knots. The order came in a reasonable amount of time.
For what I paid, the pizza was NOT GOOD AT ALL. It came cut Midwestern, meaning in a series of small squares. This method is so ridiculous as most of the slices have no crust to hold onto. There was little flavor; nothing special about it. I gave them my direct review saying that I could have gotten 3 extra large pizzas from Costco for the same price...and they would have tasted far superior. The garlic knots were also a complete waste of money. Hard, overbaked lumps of dough with little flavor. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars, instead of 1, is that the Sweet Knots were DELICIOUS; they’re the only item I’ll recommend.
If anyone asks how I enjoyed Fresh Brothers, I’ll simply tell them I didn’t. I’ll...
Read moreOrdered wings here (Laguna Niguel) and prepaid 30 minutes before my lunchtime so they’re be ready and good to go when I arrived. Got here in 30 minutes and found out the woman who took my order and payment just flat out forgot to put the order in. How that happens I have no clue. I canceled the order and went elsewhere at that point! Came back to give them another try 2 months later and the pizza was NOT good at all. Again I had prepaid and didn’t have time to go back and get a refund etc. on top of it all B E W A R E, they automatically add a tip to your online order before they even make it! You have to specifically mark “no tip” to prevent that from happening. They should actually be tipping me at this point. I think they could make so much more money if they really cared about their...
