We recently had the pleasure of dining at Desi Fusion on 4313 Common Street, and must say, it was an exceptional culinary experience that left our taste buds dancing with delight. The combination of flavors and textures in their offerings was nothing short of extraordinary. Here's a breakdown of the delicious dishes that we enjoyed:
Garlic Naan with Hummus: The Garlic Naan was an absolute treat. Freshly baked to perfection, it was soft, warm, and delightfully garlicky without being overpowering. Paired with their creamy and flavorful hummus, it was a match made in heaven. The hummus was smooth, with a perfect balance of lemony zest and a hint of tahini, making it the ideal companion to the aromatic naan. Each bite was a testament to the care and craftsmanship put into these simple yet sublime dishes.
Pani Puri: Next, we ventured into the world of Pani Puri, and what a delightful adventure it was! Our initial experience of these morsels was from the streets of Queens New York. The crispy puris were delicate and perfectly shaped, ready to be filled with the tangy and spicy water, chickpeas, and potatoes. The burst of flavors with each bite was an explosion of sweet, sour, and spicy notes that danced harmoniously on my palate. It was a playful and refreshing dish that brought a joyful experience, evoking memories of the vibrant street food from the bourough of Queens.
Lamb Gyro Over Rice: The Lamb Gyro over Rice was the star of the show. Tender chunks of succulent lamb were generously served over a bed of fragrant basmati rice. The lamb was seasoned to perfection, with a medley of spices that highlighted its natural flavors without overpowering them. Accompanied by fresh vegetables, each mouthful was a delightful blend of savory, creamy, and crunchy textures. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, providing the perfect base to soak up the rich flavors of the lamb and spicy sauce.
Overall Experience: From the moment we took our first bite of the Garlic Naan to the last spoonful of the Lamb Gyro over Rice, it was a journey of culinary excellence. The presentation was impeccable, and the service was warm and attentive, enhancing the overall dining experience. Each dish was crafted with care, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality and authenticity. MJ is the owner and chef of this little known place on Common Street. Read moreWe ordered the food at this place and it was a dine in order. One dish is very bad its was not fully cooked, i tried to tell the front desk lady that the food is not cooked and she took the food to the kitchen. The dissapointing thing is the lady asked me, do you want to take it to go and i said no. If the food is very bad why will take it home, At the end they tried to charge me for the food which we haven’t eaten that dish. The owner or cheff i don’t him he came from the kitchen and started arguing with me and he says don’t pay anything its on the house. he says don’t teach me how make the biryani , its funny also this guy says that we are not bothered about the money, why did you try to charge us if you are not bothered about the money .He says we are desi, i don’t understand what desi means. We are all people living in the society. Don’t try to bring out the race. If we are not desis do you fight with them the same way.So disgusting experience, I will never step into this place again .
The explanation is the peices are uncooked rice is uncooked. you can not humiliate a customer as well. Why did the front desk lady tried to charge if we didn’t eat the food . Why did he ask me about are you teaching me how to make biryani. Is this how you talk...
Read moreTried out Desi Fusion tonight and so glad we did! For appetizers we had the beef samosas that were so flaky on the outside and the stuffing had so much flavor. And the green dipping sauce… I wanted to lick the bowl it was so addicting. We also had the hummus with garlic naan. Some of the best hummus we’ve had around town! For our meals we ordered the Goat Korma and the Shrimp Karahi. Omg the aromas and how flavorful both dishes were 🤤 And the goat was so tender and had a mild flavor. The spice level was just right. Huge servings and we have plenty of leftovers for dinner tomorrow. The customer service was exceptional! Our server was very attentive and answered any and all questions we had regarding the menu as many of the dishes we were unfamiliar with. I saw they also serve burgers and pizza and am very curious to try their twist on them. Even the chef came out to check on us and make sure the dishes were to our liking. We will definitely be going back to try out other items on their menu. Don’t sleep on this place if you enjoy delicious food and...
