My second time coming here ever. First time was so good that we literally searched for 30 minutes to find it again. This time everything was going great... server was nice got our drinks on time everything. Then food comes out..... I ordered a chicken scrambled thing that comes topped with gravy.... so it comes out and I notice.... not only is my chicken burnt to a black crisp but the parts that were not burnt they faced up and covered it excessively in gravy. I used to manage a kitchen and was head chef at another.... the chicken was literally hard and black....
So I started to pull the chicken out of my food since everything else looked ok. I was placing the chicken on the table because we had no room on the table and figured they would bring me a plate to put it on but I didn’t want the burnt food on my plate and didn’t think it was necessary for then to have to make me a whole new one.
I told the waitress abbey who was delivering our food “hey my chicken is all burnt” to which she replies “okay?” “Do you want some more?”
To which I replied yes so she walks off and not even 2 minutes later a African American man walks out from the back looking at me like he wanted to fight slams his hand on the table and scoops up the chicken.... then walks to the back like he just proved something... 5 min later here he comes again walking like he wants to fight me again and drops the chicken off to which I thank him...
So once abbey walks back over I asked is everything ok with him...
She tells me
It’s just rude what you did....
So I have to think what I did that could of been rude.... so I said what was rude....
She said sitting the food on the table like that.... it’s rude. Would you do that at your house?
I said yea if I burnt chicken and tried to hide it under gravy I’d put it on the table as well at my house....
She replies well it’s rude you should of put it in a plate or something not on the table....
I said well there is literally no plates on my table and there is no room except right there.... (this being said we cleaned our own table so she’s not worried about cleanliness)
She restates that’s rude again and then walks off....
So I go to pay and the cook decides it’s a perfect time to turn around cross his arms and stare at me..... trying to intimidate me....
All in all we have a rude server because you’d never talk to a customer like that and a thug cook who thinks intimidating customers is going to make his chicken cooking skills better..... because how you make hard black chicken...
Read moreOn Wednesday 11/1/23, my husband and I chose to go to KD's for lunch with our family because of budget. We were in the Lake Charles area for an appointment, decided on KD's because the prices looked reasonable. When we arrived at the diner my husband and I walked in first, started sitting at the table nearest the door and the server who had no name tag and didn't identify herself rudely asked what we wanted to drink before we even sat down. I explained to her there were three others with us and we're waiting for them to come in. Now mind you, this is our first visit at this restaurant and it'll be our last. The server was RUDE, CRUDE, AND SOCIALLY UNEXCEPTABLE! My husband and I didn't order anything because of the money situation, so all we had was water and we let our family members order what they wanted. My daughter asked if they had onion rings, the server replied rudely they didn't have any. My family all ordered cheeseburgers, they asked for french fries and she rudely told them that they don't serve fries, only chips!!! My family shared their meals with my husband and I, then when they were through eating they went to the car to wait for us. When we went to pay, we had to do a split pay, and I refused to tip the server because her service was appalling! As we walked out the door she says "Seriously, thank you!". As we were driving away, she came out of the diner with an angry look on her face and telling a patron how she was stuffed by us. I rolled down my window and told her if she'd change her attitude she probably would've gotten a tip. She proceeded to flip us off! I called a few minutes later and filed a complaint. I have worked in restaurants, I know what they get paid hourly, and I know if you bend over backwards you'll get your just rewards. Like I said this "girl" didn't identify herself and had no name tag, yet she was about 5'9" -5'10", medium build, short black hair. Please be aware of who...
Read moreIt is beyond me how this place has such great reviews other than maybe it's because they're open 24 hours, and drunk people think it's good. It's SUPER small, and usually a line. Sign says "please wait to be seated", but no one will say a word to you to greet you or to seat you. You just have to hover and wait. Took forever to be greeted when we sat (not even a "I'llbe right with you), and were ignored for 10 mins. Wasn't even busy today. Server had no manners, was slow, and while she saw my husband standing waiting to pay ignored him for several minutes while she screwed around trying to plug in her cell phone to the charger. The restaurant was dirty, and dirty stacked dishes got left in front of us for the duration of our unpleasant service. The entire wait staff was lacking, no team work, no sense of urgency. And the food? Absolute garbage. We tried several things. Western omelette, pancakes, biscuits and gravy. It was awful. Could've gotten better at IHOP or even Denny's. Maybe even McDonald's if that tells you anything. There wasn't a single desirable thing about our experience. Definitely don't recommend, and obviously will not...
