It’s not the best or largest mall I’ve been to, but it is nice considering I’m in Lake Charles, LA. I find it to be clean, have good security and most of the time available parking. The stores are kept up nicely and the majority of them are easy to find. I wish they wouldn’t have so many vendors in the middle of the mall always trying to put something on you or give you something because it makes going into specific stores like VS unenjoyable when your trying to go in or out and have someone right there trying to get your attention. I don’t want to be rude but it’s every single time I try to run in I get bombarded with someone trying to sell me something I don’t want. I could also do away with these riding toy animals they have. Seems like a good idea, right? Wrong! They get out of control and you find yourself moving out of their way and it makes a small busy mall even smaller and appear busier, therefore more hectic and less enjoyable. But due to the cleanliness, layout, and the stores in the mall, I give it 3 stars but it could’ve easily been less because of the headache I get from dodging salespeople and...
Read moreGone very, very downhill since around a decade ago. My mom got violently sick and sent to the ICU from eating here at the food court btw. They were sued and somehow still sell that kind of food there. Many good places are shut down or changed in style that was nothing like before that made them unique. In other words most of the fashion and merch shops look so similar to one another and following the current fads and trends. Very bland overall. Occasionally there's a good sale but for the most part overpriced, place like jc penny wanted to charge me over $40 for a single pair of khakis I wanted for work. For some reason the main bathroom that's near the entrance of the store is closed down, there's no other bathroom for use besides one by the food court. It's dirty and doesn't have any protective sheets to put over the toilets in ANY of the stalls. It's all just sad honestly, this place used to be my go-to before and after watching a movie at the Cinemark. Now I really only shop there at the shoe dept and Aeropostale, as it seems many stores are moving to online...
Read moreNote, this is a review of the mall's management and security, NOT the stores of the mall!
I was visiting this mall with my service animal a few months back. A security guard approaches me, and with a confrontational attitude, tells me I must leave. He asks to see an ID for it: one is not mandated by the ADA to carry any proof, and one is not allowed to ask for proof). I quoted the line of the ADA, and the security guard asked what the dog was trained/tasked to preform. I answered, and he walked away.
I went to the office after, and the "Lieutenant" they called was less friendly than the office employee who called him. He insisted the man who approached me does not have an aggressive attitude, that he worked with him for years... and that I should be glad it's not some malls, that would escort me out for not having a service animal ID (sites that sell these are fake/racketeering, the ADA has no such registry...
