In the interest of fairness I will preface this registration of disgust with two statements. 1.) My wife's meal was well prepared and she enjoyed it. 2.) Our server was sweet, and I believe she tried her best. That said the evening began with me asking for an unsweet tea, and a Long Island. I got an unsweet tea and what I believe may have been a frozen lemonade. Not being one to fuss I shrugged it off. From there I moved to a char-grilled oyster starter. Charred is a bit of an understatement as one was thoroughly carbonized. They tasted neither of garlic butter nor parmesan, and had they not been served on the shell may not have been easily recognized as oysters. My wife tried one and it was so gritty she promptly spat it out. I ate the other four with varying degrees of grit laden disappointment. The manager asked how the dish was and I told him honestly but politely what I thought and immediately turned down the offer for a second round of free somewhat oyster flavored sand. When the blackened Snapper Charlie came out I was at first surprised at receiving what I took to be the child's portion. Surprise turned quickly to relief as I realized that I would not have to struggle through more than a few bites of the obviously frozen and poorly deboned disasterpiece and tasteless dirty rice which had been carelessly slopped onto the plate. To finish the night I asked the server to bring the check and a short double crown and coke. I have to believe that there was a half finished, mostly melted fountain drink of dubious origin in the back and they poured that up and brought it out with a little sprinkle of crown on top. That's certainly what was in my glass. I take this evening as a teaching opportunity on the part of Landry's. The lesson I paid to learn is that I'd rather let Floyd Mayweather punch me in the crotch than...

He politely listened, apologized, but never offered anything else. Said to stop by and say hi sometime, HaHaHaHa. ORIGINAL post on 9/11/18: Have to say, this was the worst Landry‘s experience I have ever had. I have a select card, was using my birthday reward. When I arrived, there was a wait of 10 to 15 minutes. I asked if the select card would move me up in the queue, she said no, there were “only” two in front of you. Then they seated us outside on the humid patio without asking if this was OK. Was surprised to get our water in plastic cups, and no bread plates were provided even though the bread was very crusty and messy all over the table top. But the BIG disappointment was the food. I ordered the chicken Evangeline and the chicken breast was so dry that I really needed a steak knife. But I used the butter knife provided. Have you ordered the corn maque choux as a side. Ick, had vinegar all over it. I even searched for recipes to see if any of them had vinegar. Did not find any. On the good side, we got to watch a drama unfold out at the pool. A drunk female in a skimpy bikini passed out on one of the loungers. They finally called an ambulance for her and she was loaded up and taken away. Lots of arguments, more and more employees showed up. So a nice...
Read moreI'm writing this review for my daughter because she's too busy throwing up to write it for herself. I probably would not have even wrote this review had someone answered the phone at the Golden Nugget so I could speak to someone. I tried calling several times and was put on hold and then transferred. I was put on a phone que for several minutes and when it will get to my turn it would hang up on me. All I wanted to do was speak to a manager. My daughter and her boyfriend came in from Baton Rouge and it was their first night stay at the Golden Nugget. They were planning on visiting me the next day. They checked in around 4:00 and met another couple ,an old friend of hers to have dinner with them at Landry's. Her boyfriend ordered the raw oysters. When they were done eating within an hour they had to go to the room because he vomited violently all night long and had to get up early and drive back. My daughter started vomiting on the drive back. They did not get to enjoy their hotel room that cost them $350, they did not get to swim, and they did not get to visit with me today. I have not been able to get in touch with any manager at the Golden Nugget about this issue. This is very disappointing and I'm sure they will never want to go there again. Maybe someone will do the right thing and reach...
