Hungry Howie's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Lake City

Update June 2024. I got a pizza that wasn't even sliced....I also said light cook and it came out overcooked. I'm seriously done and I've talked to people that used to work here and said they quit because of the new store manager. I'd rather get frozen pizza or go elsewhere. Prices got ridiculous also. 16 dollars for a large extra cheese because its not wednesday? Updated Review July 2023 Went in at night. Employees saw us and left to the back and said we'll be right with you. A guy with a beard. Then an older woman with glasses walked up to us made a face and also said be right with you. 5 minutes passed. We saw people talking in the back. They couldn't care less. I even drummed on the counter to make some noise. I yelled "I guess y'all don't want customers". Still nobody came up. That older lady with the glasses went to hide I guess. Not sure if she was the sarcastic manager in the daytime who said "you came back, I guess you liked the food"

Another time the new store owner in the morning who looks scruffy. I told him the food was good and he just shrugged his shoulders. Unbelievable!!!!! I guess this is lake city. The sad thing is we gave this place another chance because we like the salads, pasta, and pizza. Worst employees I've ever seen and managers.

They can't even get a half and half pizza right. Another time the girl didn't even know what wacky Wednesday was on Wednesday! Hello???

2022 review. This is the last time I am going to update my review. I am tired of this place hiring rude staff, ghetto guys with attitudes, and the prices are way too steep for the lousy Rubber quality. Their salads suck now. Hardly any ingredients like before. It was mostly lettuce. It used to be hooked up with a mountain of deli meats, and sub toppings. The spagetti is gone. Pizzas are terrible and chewy. Over priced. No cheese. Long wait time. Some of them act like you are bothering them by walking in. Bye!!! Giving them another chance and improving my review. Been coming here for years, seen employees come and go. Its still a very long wait time and the orders are wrong half the time, but its hit or miss. The girls are friendly who take your order. Lastly can I express that they do not put extra cheese when you pay for extra cheese? Baked spaghetti is not noodles anymore, and the pizzas taste a bit chewy with not much cheese like domino's does, only howies tastes better. The salads are not full of lettuce anymore, but still got the toppings. The baked pastas still taste great and stuffed bread. Very filling. We go here for the deals and big variety. I did like the stuffed crust, but remember back in the day howies had really cheesy pizzas. Still cheaper than pizza hut. We go here mostly for the location, and can't...

Edit: I'm changing this to a below average rating. Last week my antipasto salad had no salami and zero romaine lettuce. It was shredded taco lettuce with little toppings Out of the last 10 pizzas I ordered. Half didnt have the extra cheese I ordered. Y'all wanna be stingy fine! I will go some place else or go back to buying frozen pizzas and adding cheese. And I also don't like feeling pressured to tip if the order is wrong. I will pay 4 dollars plus tip to get double extra cheese and it's like your workers think that means a little extra fairy dust sprinkles. There was a guy with glasses who did my pizzas right. I'm not ordering from here anymore for a while. I keep giving chances and its been a gamble here. I stopped coming here for years and Now its time to again say bye. I will be going to other pizza places or just making my own. Life is short and pizza is my favorite food to be getting this upset and disappointed randomly if I dont go pick it up myself to make sure the pizza came out right. Most places when you pay for extra cheese you get it. Here its like a joke. or random. I wanted a pizza with lots of extra cheese! Not a large bread with some toppings on it. Which by the way, the bread here and crust is very chewy almost like rubber. This used to be my favorite mid chain place because cesar's and dominos is awful. The pasta and salads here are tasty, but often times the salad will be missing something. My greek salad did not have pepperoncinis once, so now I pay for extra to make sure it has any at all. Also they dont use romaine anymore like the menu says.

This is also why I wont waste my money trying to say 3x cheese. Although this pizza may look good to all the common people around here. This is NOT double extra cheese. Your ads and pictures are false advertising. Including the sakads that cut corners to he mostly taco shredded ice...

Ordered my pizza online as I am a regular customer. Wait time was longer than usual. The pizza tracker told me my order was ready after 40 mins. After entering the hungry howies establishment i noticed an abnormal amount of people waiting around. I asked multiple people if they had ordered, they stated no one had come to the front to assist in over 10 mins. So as i stand there waiting patiently after my pizza was ready i can hear the employees yelling at one another honestly making the atmosphere very hectic and unsafe for customers. After 15 minutes of standing around a worker came forward very nice women. I got my pizza and headed home to my family that had patiently been waiting. I checked my pizza to make sure all is good. Unfortunately my pizza was not made as requested and payed for. I called hungry howies letting a worker know that i had waited right at an hour to get my family's dinner but the order is not as requested. I asked the worker if there was anyway i could get my next pizza free or even a refund for all of the trouble i had went through and experience i was having. The worker had apologized and was very understanding even talked with the present manager to fix the situation. The manager said there would be no refund nor a free pizza for my trouble.
