If you're anywhere near Lake City, do yourself a favor and stop by Two Cuban Guysâthis place is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, we knew we were in for a treat. The Cuban sandwiches are a revelation, packed with layers of flavor. The pulled pork meal was simply out of this worldâjuicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The maduros were carmelized to perfection.
And just when we thought it couldnât get any better, we were served the most divine desserts. The flan, topped with authentic Cuban vanilla ice cream, was to die for. It was rich, creamy, and had just the right amount of sweetness. The tres leches cake, which literally melted in your mouth, was another highlight that left us swooning.
And the final showstopper was the Cuban coffeeâtruly the piĂšce de rĂ©sistance. It was strong, smooth, and incredibly satisfying. It was hot so we ordered it iced, quite delicious. But before we left, Chef Adrian went the extra mile by offering me a to-go cup of Colada since I'd never tried it (despite growing up in Tampa). Let me tell you, that stuff is pure magic! Itâs no wonder Cubans are known for their energyâthis Colada could keep you buzzing for days!
The authentic experience at Two Cuban Guys rivals any Cuban restaurant in Tampa and surpasses most in Miami. Weâre already planning our next visit when weâre in the area, and Iâm seriously trying to convince the owner to move his establishment to Brevard County, where we live. There's nothing like it for at least 120 miles around!
Trust me, you wonât be disappointedâthis is Cuban cuisine...
Read moreWhat a treasure this place was. I stumbled across it based on other Google reviews looking for a somewhere to eat in Lake City. It was conveniently near the interstate, which was close to our hotel on Hwy 90. I am so glad I stopped. Was the best food I had during our stay. I had a Cuban that was one of the best I have had period and by far the best I have had outside of Miami. The bread was fresh and tasty, the pork was juicy and flavorful. My son is a picky eater and we ordered just the pork sandwich and he gobbled that up. I tried a bite and it was outstanding as well. My wife and Father both had a café con leche and both raved about it. I talked with Angel while was there and he was such a nice friendly guy. He was telling me about how he slow cooks the pork, and the taste confirms that, and how his father worked for Bustelo and how he learned to make the perfect coffee. I am not a coffee person, but my wife and father would definitely vouch for that as they both talked about coffee the rest of the day. I guess he does Catering as well, what a gem. I will definitely find excuses to stop through here when I am traveling on I75. I am so jealous I don't have a place like this in my local area. Definitely worth a visit. This place is worth waiting an extra hour to get to this exit. ...

As I walked up, there was a lady on oxygen, who appeared to be waiting for her order in the handicap parking. I asked her if it was good. She instantly raved and said we chose the best place for lunch. As we were just driving through on a long road trip, we were hungry.
Once inside the family greeting we received from the owner, his family present, gave me a feeling that I was not at a business. I was in their home where they were sharing the meal they cooked with me. The meal I wanted was not available but a suitable substitution was immediately suggested. The picture provided was what was served and it was good. We were surprised with garlic bread as an appetizer and finished with Cuban coffee on the house. These are details most diners today have forgotten. Old fashioned customer care really goes a long way.
If you are looking to nitpick and criticize, this is not the place for you. If you want good food that fills the soul and service that transports you to another time, then "welcome home!" Because that is how you will feel.
One thing I noticed was, my eggs were seasoned and did not need salt and...
