Crumbl — Restaurant in Lake Forest

My first time going to this location was a bust! It was dead in there, no customers and just two employees. Because I’d been seeing the fuss on TikTok about these amazing cookies, and because I’m like a Cookie Monster, not to mention, I LOVE to bake different, unique flavored cookies myself, but I didn’t feel like doing so this particular day…so, I went into the location at Foothills Ranch. Their selection was not all that great, as I didn’t see anything worth jumping out of a plane without a parachute. But, because I made the effort to come out to buy these ridiculously priced cookies, I decided to get the best thing that I saw there, which I did Well, the girl went back to get a box to box up my cookies and as she was getting a box, she dropped it on the floor!! 😳 Because I’m like a germaphobe, I made the same face the emoji I added has! Well, the girl proceeded to pick the box up off the floor and she continued to open it and started to put my cookies in it, but my high-pitched screech stopped her before she did!! I told her that I didn’t want that box and my husband basically had to tell her that the floor was dirty and we didn’t want a box that she’d dropped on the floor! She replied that she’d mopped the floors, and my husband had to tell her that he didn’t care because she and the other lady were still walking on the floors with their shoes, which they’ve been walking everywhere else in the world in (basically saying the bottom of your shoes are always dirty!) and because the box had fell, we did not want that box, simple as that! She took a rag that she had been wiping the counters off with and said she’d wipe it off (which she did and then threw the rag back on the counter — my OCD was going nuts at this point!!). We told her that wasn’t good enough for us. She asked us what we wanted her to do. At this point we were DONE, and we just said to give us our money back! She didn’t want to do that, so she became flustered and asked what did we want her to do, and we told her we just wanted a new box, not one that had been dropped, then wiped with a rag that has been who knows where! So she stated she’d give us a new box, in which she did. Next, she started to load our cookies up and we had to ask her to change her gloves 🤦🏽‍♀️ which she ended up doing! She then loaded our cookies up and I asked who was the manager here. She stated she was. And the combination of these emojis 😳😲became my face because you would think that a manager would know not to let anything like that fly!! My husband and I told her we were super disappointed by her being a manager and us having to basically tell her how unsanitary it was to drop a box on the floor, she wipe the box with a rag, then throw that same rag back on her counter and how that was cross contamination! I said when we asked for our money back, she should have just given it and offered us a discount to come back to give them another try another time! She then apologized and went to the register and just gave us our full refund and explained that she was new and she hoped that we’d give them another try some day. (This is why I gave them an extra star than what I felt they deserved!) This all happened when they first opened up. I hope that the service has improved and they’re no longer making those same mistakes, and that they’re now more sanitary and all. I haven’t been back to that location, but I have been to the one in Lake Forest. I will chalk this up to them being new, but it is just plain common sense not to drop anything on the floor and then proceed to give it to the customer. I don’t care if it is just the box! And the fact that she never threw the box away, but just threw it on her counter, it leads me to believe that the next customer likely got that dirty box because she never threw it away in our presence, but instead threw it on the counter beside...

Despite the fact that my order of 3 minis had one incorrect cookie flavor, the EXCEPTIONAL customer service and prompt correction along with the MOST DECADENT DELICIOUSNESS of each and every flavor, well it more than made up for the initial hiccup! Personally, I regard a trip to Crumbl as an “experience” because I truly enjoy every thing from their pristine bakery… which is a blend of something out of a Willy Wonka meets a 1950’s Local Ice Cream and Soda Fountain Shop, all wrapped up inside the comfort and ease of being in a Grandmas cozy kitchen! Plus their storefront and display, the excitement and anticipation come Sunday evening when the upcoming week’s flavors are announced and lastly but not least the one Of a kind, out of its league and in a league of its own perfect flavor and texture and gastronomical explosion..! On our recent visit to Crumbl Cookies, my wife and I were treated to an exceptional experience. We decided to go for the timeless classic - chocolate chip cookies. To our delight, they were just as we hoped: warm, soft, with chocolate chips that seemed to dance on our taste buds. Paired with the cool, refreshing milk, it was a match made in heaven.

But what truly set this visit apart was the service. The staff member who helped us was not only friendly but genuinely nice, making our experience even sweeter. It's rare to find a place that hits the mark on both quality treats and customer service, but Crumbl Cookies did just that.
