Went there before the restaurant got busy, the hostess/waitress seems to be in another world when see finally snapped out of it she ask how many and grabbed the menus and said follow me...no smile no hospitality. (If it would have been up to me.I would have.walked.out. but my guest used to frequent the restaurant alot before) So we sat down she took our drink order, a sprite, a coke and a beer. When she came back with the two drinks ( which when going to place.the.drinks down, she got wrong), she placed a bowl of tomato sauce ( it was just that, a 1/4 cup of tomato sauce in a bowl) and chips. OK, she then asked if we were ready, we said no, she asked, if we let could her know when we were, and went and sat on the other side of the booths from were we sat. When we were ready, I had to call out to her twice(again, she was in another world) She took our orders, I am not fond of onions so I always say no onions on anything and proceed to make my order, well I know what I like and know how to order it, she tried to convince we it couldn't be ordered the way I wanted, I said ok let me see if I would like something g different, she then said she would check to see if the order could be done the way I wanted, the. she took the other person's order. She asked us to repeat the order, we did, and she took the menus. She never came back to say my order was placed the way I had asked. She came to give us our food...MY ORDER HAD ONIONS!!!!!!! How, why?... (let me mention at this time how angry I was, it wasn't one error or two, it was error after error after error and not one time did she apologize)... She took my place and went into the kitchen and just removed the onions and brought the plate back. The rice was less than room temperature, the refried beans were less than room temperature and the tortilla were burnt...(lucky for.me.I don't mind the taste on my tortilla but felt the need to mention because it was part of the disaster lunch at La Fogata) She came by one time to ask if we needed anything, right before we were ready to leave(I needed my drink refilled long before that, but my guest convinced me to just try to salvage the rest of the lunch without getting more aggravated) WE finished our conversation, got a to-go container and asked for the check. The check was calculated with a CC surarge was atomatically charged, we were never asked if we were paying cash or CC. I paid cash and made sure the surcharge was removed. We gave the waitress the automatic 20% tip ( I usually tip a lot better) And my guest and I both vowed never to return. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND WHILE.READING THIS, THE RESTAURANT HAD ONE TABLE OF THREE BESIDES ME...
Read moreI want to know where the hell these people saying there are better Mexican food places to eat at in West Palm Beach. I travel to WPB about once every month or two for work and EVERY time I am there I HAVE to go to this place. The Chimichangas are astronomically out of this world good. The Salsa is made fresh the chips are crisp and exquisite. I have taken my co workers when we are on site working on yachts to this place and Every single one of this has had their mind blown eating this food and when they get the cheap bill their eyes about fall out of their heads. I am not kidding when I say the Chimichangas are nearly Fat kid Orgasmic when you take the first bite.
I used to go there twice a week when I worked in Riveria Beach and was introduced by one of my Mexican Coworkers who loves the place. You never leave hungry and I never had an issue with booth size like some "average sized" American's reviews have stated. Which makes me curious as to what the hell an "average sized" American must be. As by those booth standards my 5'11" 269 lb must be petite.
I have eaten at this establishment for over 9 years now and wish I lived closer so I could eat their more. Phone orders and table orders are always fast, fresh, hot and delicious. One of my co workers from Texas ate there and said it was one of the best Mexican dishes he has had since he got here from Texas and if anyone knows a Texan Latino that's a huge compliment to the food. The head server/manager is always courteous. They are fast to refill your drinks and will give you more salsa and chips upon request free of charge. The only thing I wish they had was more horchata as they make it fresh however they never seem to have any on hand when I go anymore which is a shame as it was phenomenally delicious.
Don't listen to the people who have downed this place. If you want fast, cheap, hot, delicious Mexican cuisine you need to try this place out you will not be...

I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at La Fogata, on nothlake and I must say, it was incredibly disappointing. Not only was the food subpar, but the server's unfriendly demeanor made the entire visit even more unpleasant.
Let's start with the food. The dishes we ordered lacked any semblance of authentic Mexican flavors. The taste was bland, and it felt like the ingredients used were of low quality. The salsa tasted like tomato paste. It was evident that minimal effort was put into the preparation and presentation. The overall quality of the food simply did not meet the standards one would expect from a Mexican restaurant.
To make matters worse, the server we encountered was far from friendly. From the moment we walked in, we were met with a cold and unwelcoming attitude. The server seemed disinterested in assisting us and was dismissive when we had questions about the menu. Their lack of professionalism and basic courtesy left us feeling neglected throughout the entire meal.
A restaurant experience should be enjoyable, and sadly, La Fogata failed to deliver. The combination of tasteless and poorly executed dishes, along with the server's unfriendly attitude, left a lasting negative impression. It's disheartening to see a restaurant that doesn't prioritize customer satisfaction.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant There are plenty of other establishments in the area that offer far better food...
